Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Relinquishments,

New Zealand Cadet Forces

Pursuant to section 59 of the Defence Act 1971, the Minister
of Defence hereby approves the following appointments, pro-
motions, extensions, relinquishments, cancellations, transfers,
and resignations of the New Zealand Cadet Forces.

SEA CADET CORPS
Appointment
Claude Rodney Hatherly is appointed to a commission in
the rank of Lieutenant with effect from 25 October 1974.
Brian Ormerod Heath is appointed to a commission in the
rank of Sub Lieutenant with effect from 1 November 1974.
Patrick James Robson is appointed to a commission in the
rank of Sub Lieutenant with effect from 7 November 1974.

AIR TRAINING CORPS
Appointments
Charles Herbert Quirk is appointed to a commission in
the rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect
from 8 September 1974.
Stephen John Tyler is appointed to a commission in the
rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect
from 8 September 1974.
Herbert Grant Longley is appointed Unit Commander with
effect from 6 December 1974.
Flight Lieutenant R. A. Patston is appointed Unit Com-
mander with effect from 6 December 1974.
William Herbert Mannix is reappointed to a commission
in the rank of Flying Officer for a period of 4 years with
effect from 23 December 1974.

Promotion
Flight Lieutenant M. F. Brister to be Squadron Leader
with effect from 30 December 1974.

Resignation
Flying Officer Gary Lee Powell resigns his commission
with effect from 3 December 1974.

Terminations
The appointment of Squadron Leader David Allen Low
is terminated with effect from 12 December 1974.
The appointment of Flying Officer Joshua Leonard Restall
is terminated with effect from 20 December 1974.
The appointment of Flying Officer Frank Stewart Adeane
is terminated with effect from 20 December 1974.

Transfers
Flying Officer T. C. Walsh is transferred from No. 10 ATC
Squadron to No. 14 ATC Squadron with effect from 26
November 1974.
Flying Officer H. G. Longley is transferred from No. 3
ATC Squadron to No. 30 ATC Squadron with effect from
6 December 1974.
Pilot Officer G. W. Robins is transferred from No. 8 ATC
Squadron to No. 48 ATC Squadron with effect from 12
December 1974.

Transfer from Supernumerary List
Pilot Officer John Fordon McHardy is transferred from
the Supernumerary List to No. 1 ATC Squadron with effect
from 26 November 1974.

Transfer to Supernumerary List
Squadron Leader B. E. Nuttall is transferred to the Super-
numerary List for 1 year with effect from 2 December 1974.

SCHOOL CADET CORPS
Appointment
Lieutenant W. F. O'Leary is appointed Unit Commander
with effect from 6 December 1974.

Resignation
2nd Lieutenant David Leonard Brown resigns his com-
mission with effect from 20 November 1974.

The appointments of the following officers are terminated
with effect from 20 December 1974.

Appointment of Parliamentary Counsel
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
appoint
Anthony James Dowling, Esquire, LL.B.,
to be a Parliamentary Counsel, in terms of the Statutes
Drafting and Compilation Act 1920, on and from 17 February
1975.

Appointment of Stipendiary Magistrate
Pursuant to section 5 of the Magistrates' Courts Act 1947
and section 27 of the Child Welfare Act 1925, His Excellency
the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Noel Liam Bradford, Esq.,
of Brown's Bay, barrister and solicitor, to be a Stipendiary
Magistrate, to exercise criminal and civil jurisdiction in New
Zealand and to exercise jurisdiction in the Children's Court
established at Wellington.

Appointment of an Emergency Protection Authority
Pursuant to the Tariff and Development Board Act 1961
and its amendments, His Excellency the Governor-General
has been pleased to reappoint
John Hylton Randal
as an Emergency Protection Authority for a further term
commencing on 1 January 1975 and terminating on 31 March
1975.
