Pursuant to the Local Government Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby appoints Neville George Pickering of Christchurch, to be a member of the Local Government Commission for a term expiring with the 31st day of January 1980.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Redefinition of the Boundaries of Upper Mataura Pest Destruction District Order 1975.

  2. The boundaries of the Upper Mataura Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the first day of April 1974*, are hereby redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Counties of Southland, Lake, and Clutha containing an estimated area of 152 444 hectares, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, bounded as follows:

Commencing at the north-easternmost corner of Run 625, being a point on the north-western boundary of Run 626; thence generally south-westerly along that north-western boundary to the northern boundary of Block III, Garvie Survey District; thence westerly along that block boundary to the south-eastern boundary of the Nokomai Survey District; thence south-westerly and westerly along the south-eastern and southern boundaries of the aforesaid survey district and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the right bank of the Mataura River; thence north-westerly generally along the aforesaid right bank to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 59, Block VIII, Eyre Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of Dome Creek; thence south-westerly along the middle of Dome Creek to the northern boundary of Block V, Eyre Survey District, being a point on the generally southern boundary of Run 622; thence generally westerly along the generally south boundary of Run 622 to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of Section 156, Block VII, Eyre Survey District; thence generally north-westerly along the generally south-western boundaries of Section 156 aforesaid to the easternmost corner of Section 148, Block VII, Eyre Survey District; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Section 148 aforesaid and its production to the western side of State Highway No. 6; thence generally southerly along the western side of the aforesaid State highway to the north-eastern boundary of part Lot 13, D.P. 1666; thence north-westerly along the aforesaid north-eastern boundary to and across the Kingston Branch Railway, along the north-eastern boundary aforesaid, to and across a public road (Diacks Road) and along the aforesaid north-eastern boundary to

the north-eastern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 6518; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Lot 1 and its production to the left bank of the Irthing Stream; thence northerly along the said left bank to a point due west of the production of the southern boundary of part Run 352B; thence due east along that line to its intersection with the generally eastern boundary of the State forest (Gazette, 1934, p. 2195); thence generally northerly along the generally eastern boundary of the aforesaid State forest to its intersection with the northern boundary of Eyre Survey District, being also the south-eastern boundary of part Run 558; thence northerly generally along the generally western boundary of part Run 558 to the boundary of Run 631; thence generally easterly along the generally southern boundaries of Run 631 to the westernmost corner of Run 634; thence generally north-easterly along the generally south-eastern boundaries of Run 634 to the easternmost corner thereof; thence due east along a right line to the western shore of Lake Wakatipu; thence generally southerly, easterly, and northerly along the western, southern, and eastern shores of Lake Wakatipu to Staircase Creek, South Wakatipu Survey District, Otago Land District; thence generally north-easterly along the middle of that creek for a distance of 5.5 kilometres approximately to the middle of a tributary of that creek; thence northerly along the middle of that tributary to its northernmost source, being an unnamed lake; thence northerly along the eastern shore of that lake to its northern-most point; thence along a right line on a bearing of 20Β° approximately to the southernmost point of another unnamed lake; thence northerly along the eastern shore of that lake to the source of a tributary of Schoolhouse Creek; thence easterly along the middle of that tributary to its confluence with Schoolhouse Creek; thence north-westerly for a distance of 100 metres approximately along the middle of that creek to its confluence with another tributary of that creek; thence northerly along the middle of that tributary to its source; thence north-easterly along a right line to Ben Nevis; thence generally southerly and easterly along the generally western and southern boundaries of part Run 345a and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Nevis River; thence southerly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Run 625, Lorn Survey District, Southland Land District; thence easterly to and along the northern boundary of that run to the point of commencement.

Appointment of the Chairman of the New Zealand Superannuation Board

Pursuant to section 4 of the New Zealand Superannuation Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General was pleased to appoint on the 6th day of August 1975:

Sir Arnold Henry Nordmeyer of Wellington, to be the Chairman of the New Zealand Superannuation Board for a term of 3 years commencing on the 1st day of October 1975.

Pursuant to section 4 of the New Zealand Superannuation Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General was pleased to appoint on the 6th day of August 1975:

Sir Arnold Henry Nordmeyer, of Wellington, and Francis William Robertson, of Pare mata to be members of the New Zealand Superannuation Board for a term of 3 years commencing on the 1st day of October 1975.
