Price Order No. 2311 (Australian Oranges)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, I, Maurice John
Belgrave, pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary of Trade
and Industry acting under a delegation from the Price Tribunal,
hereby make the following price order:

This order may be cited as Price Order No. 2311 and shall
come into force on the 23rd day of June 1975. -
(1) Price Order No. 2281* is hereby revoked.
(2) The revocation of the said orders shall not affect the
liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto
committed before the coming into force of this order. -
References in this order to metropolitan areas are references
to the metropolitan areas described in the Schedule hereto.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This order applies with respect to all Australian oranges sold
by way of retail in New Zealand.
MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES
- (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the maximum
price that may be charged or received by any retailer for
any Australian oranges shall be:
(a) When sold by a retailer carrying on business in any of
the metropolitan areas of Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch, or Dunedin, or in any of the cities or
boroughs of Whangarei, Takapuna, Hamilton, Tauranga,
Rotorua, Gisborne, New Plymouth, Stratford, Hawera,
Wanganui, Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings, Master-
ton, Blenheim, Nelson, Greymouth, Timaru, Westport,
Oamaru, Balclutha, Gore, or Invercargill—
27 cents per pound.
or where the scales used by the retailer weigh in
metric weights—
1 kg, 60 cents;
2 kg, $1.19;
3 kg, $1.79.
Fractions of a kilogram shall be calculated at the
rate of 60 cents a kilogram. Quantities in excess
of 3 kg shall be calculated at the rate of 59.5 cents
per kilogram.
(b) When sold by a retailer carrying on business elsewhere—
1 lb, 28 cents;
2 lb, 55 cents;
3 lb, 83 cents;
4 lb, $1.10;
5 lb, $1.38;
6 lb, $1.65.
Fractions of a pound shall be calculated at the
rate of 28 cents per pound. Quantities in excess of
6 lb shall be calculated at the rate of 27.5 cents
per pound.
Or where the scales used by the retailer weigh in
metric weights—
1 kg, 61 cents;
2 kg, $1.21;
3 kg, $1.82.
Fractions of a kilogram shall be calculated at the
rate of 61 cents per kilogram. Quantities in excess
of 3 kg shall be calculated at the rate of 60.5 cents
per kilogram.
