The Standards Act 1965—Standard Specifications Revoked
Pursuant to section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, the
Standards Council, on 31 January 1975, revoked the under-
mentioned standard specifications:

NZS 263:1967 (BS 388:1964) Aluminium flake pigments
(Powder and paste) for paints. Metric units.
NZS 387:1959 (BS 937:1958) Flexible cable for miners'
cap lamps.
NZS 829:1966 (BS 1489:1965) The packaging of covered
winding wires for electrical purposes.
NZS 1565:1960 (BS 3043:1958) Storage envelopes for
processed X-ray films.
NZS 1596:1960 (BS 1309:1959) Methods of sampling and
analysis of vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned leathers.
Metric units.
NZS 1597:1960 (BS 2047:1960) Dimensions of textile coiler
cans.
NZS 1770:1964 (BS 3510:1962) Symbols for denoting the
actual or potential presence of ionizing radiation.
NZS 1810:1963 (BS 3528:1962) Convection type space heaters
operating on steam or hot water.
NZS 1824:1963 Clay field drainpipes. (Superseded by NZS
3301.)
NZS 1954:1965 Children's hospital cots.
NZS 2287:1969 Preferred list of steel wire ropes for use
in New Zealand. (Superseded by NZS 5231:1971)

Suitable for Use in New Zealand
Pursuant to section 17 of the Standards Act 1965, the
Standards Council, on 31 January 1975, endorsed the under-
mentioned overseas specifications as suitable for use in New
Zealand:

The Standards Act 1965—Overseas Specification Available for
Comment
Pursuant to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards
Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the under-mentioned
specification is being considered for declaration as a New
Zealand standard specification or for endorsement as being
suitable for use in New Zealand:
Number and Title of Specification
BS 4484:—Measuring instruments for constructional works—
Part 1:1969 Metric graduation and figuring of instruments
for linear measurement.
All persons who may be affected by this specification and
who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain
a copy on loan from the Standards Association of New
Zealand, World Trade Center, 15–23 Sturdee Street (or Private
Bag), Wellington 1.
Requests should specify that copies are required for com-
ment purposes.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 4 April
1975.

Notice of Intention to Assign Place Names by the New Zealand
Geographic Board
Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board
Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the intention of the New Zea-
land Geographic Board to assign the names set out in the first
column of the Schedule hereto.
Pursuant to section 13 of the said Act, any person objecting
to any such proposed name may, at any time within the period of
3 months from the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette,
give to the Secretary of the Board, care of the Department of Lands
and Survey, P.O. Box 8003, Government Buildings, Wellington,
notice in writing of his objection, setting out the grounds of the
objection. Plans showing the location of the features may be
inspected at the office of the Chief Surveyor for the department,
or at the office of the Secretary of the Board.
If no objection is received by the Board within the aforesaid
period of 3 months, the Board’s decision as to any of the said
proposed names will be final.
