Authorising the Otago Harbour Board to Reclaim Endowment Land at Port Chalmers

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to section 185 and subject to sections 176 to 182 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Otago Harbour Board to reclaim from the sea at Port Chalmers an area of 4.0469 hectares, more or less, of endowment land as shown edged red on plan M.D. 15691 and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington; the works authorised by this order to be completed within 2 years from the date of this order.

Amendment to the Rules of the New Zealand Law Society

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to section 100 of the Law Practitioners Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, and on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice makes the following rules:

  1. The amount of the annual contributions to the Solicitors' Fidelity Guarantee Fund to be paid by solicitors to whom Part VI of the said Act applies shall, as from the lst day of January 1976 and until a different amount shall be lawfully prescribed, be the sum of fifty dollars ($50).

  2. This rule shall be in substitution for Rule 1 made by the Council on the 29th day of November 1974 (Gazette, 30 January 1975, No. 6, page 136) which rule is hereby revoked.

  3. These rules may be cited as the New Zealand Law Society Rules (Amendment No. 3).

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Lieutenant Commander W. A. Montgomery to be temp. Commander with effect from 20 October 1975.

Lieutenant Commander I. M. McGibbon, A.N.Z.I.M., to be Acting Commander with effect from 10 November 1975 and Commander with seniority from 19 July 1975, and effect from 21 November 1975.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander C. F. Bryant is extended to 1 February 1979.

Lieutenant Commander Robert John Martin, V.R.D., M.A., is reappointed to the RNZN on a short-service commission for a period of 5 years, with seniority from 22 January 1974 and effect from 28 October 1975.

Lieutenant Commander Trevor James Edward Marsh is placed on the Retired List with effect from 18 August 1975.

Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) D. W. Palmer to be Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect from 1 October 1975.

Lieutenant M. F. Piper to be temp. Lieutenant Commander with effect from 30 June 1975.

Lieutenant D. F. Kerr to be temp. Lieutenant Commander with effect from 30 June 1975.

Sub Lieutenant N. D. Leith to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 21 October 1975.

Sub Lieutenant G. S. Adair, B.SC., to be Lieutenant with seniority from 20 August 1975 and effect from 8 October 1975.

Sub Lieutenant L. F. Morgan to be Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 21 October 1975.

The appointment of Midshipman Peter Ashley Fullerton is terminated with effect from 5 November 1975.

Denis Reid is appointed to the RNZN (Special Duties List), in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 1 April 1968 and effect from 3 October 1975., terminating on 2 October 1980.

Graham Alsop is appointed to a short-service commission in the RNZN for a period of 8 years in the rank of Lieutenant, with seniority from 29 September 1974 and effect from 28 September 1975.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL RESERVE

Honorary Commander Phillip Murray Church relinquishes his honorary rank of Commander with effect from 11 September 1974.

Noel Louvain Worth is appointed to a commission in the rank of Honorary Commander with seniority and effect from 11 September 1974.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE

Lieutenant Commander Peter Richard Evelyn Brown (Rtd.) reverts to the Retired List of the RNZN with effect from 30 September 1975.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander Robert John Martin, V.R.D., M.A., is terminated with effect from 27 October 1975.

Sub Lieutenant K. A. McGrath to be temp. Lieutenant with effect from 22 August 1975.

Midshipman P. W. Griffiths to be Ensign with seniority and effect from 8 August 1975.
