Exempting Crown Land From Mining Act
PURSUANT to section 24 (1) (a) of the Mining Act 1971, the Minister of Mines hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE
THE Crown lands described in the following Schedule are hereby declared to be exempted from the provision of the Mining Act 1971 for the removal of shingle, sand, and the like materials. Plans of the areas illustrating the localities are held by the Chief Surveyor, Hamilton.
SCHEDULE
NORTH AUCKLAND AND SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT
ALL that area containing 5,100 hectares, more or less, being the bed of the Waikato River and all its channels, between the mouth of the said river in Block VIII, Maioro Survey District and the Karapiro Dam in Block XIV, Cambridge Survey District, as shown on N.Z.M.S. Map Series 177, sheets N. 47, N. 51, N. 52, N. 56, N. 65, and N. 66.
The notice appearing in Gazette of 30 October 1975, No. 93, p. 2391, is hereby revoked.

The following conditions of the award of the Nobel Peace Prize for 1976 are published for general information at the request of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament.

NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
All proposals of candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize, which is to be awarded on 10 December 1976, must, in order to be taken into consideration, be laid before the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament by a duly qualified person before the 1st day of February 1976.
Any one of the following persons is entitled to submit proposals:-
(a) Members and former members of the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament, as well as the advisers appointed at the Norwegian Nobel Institute;
(b) Members of the National Assembly and members of the Government in the respective States, as well as members of the Interparliamentary Union;
(c) Members of the International Arbitration Court and of the International Court of Justice at the Hague;
(d) Members and associates of the Institute of International Law;
(e) Members of the executive committee of the International Peace Bureau;
(f) University professors of political science and of law, of history, and of philosophy; and
(g) Persons who have received the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Nobel Peace Prize may also be accorded to institutions or associations.
The nominators are strongly requested not to publish their proposals.
Proposals should be sent to the Nobel Committee of the Norwegian Parliament, Drammensveien 19, Oslo 2, Norway.
