PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

This order may be cited as the Te Anau Basin Pest Destruction District Order 1974.

The boundaries of the Te Anau Basin Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 9th day of October 1972*, are hereby redefined and, as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE TE ANAU BASIN PEST DESTRUCTION
ALL that area in the Counties of Wallace and Lake, Southland, and Otago Land Districts containing an estimated area of 529 200 hectares, more or less, inclusive of roads, railways, and streams, bounded by a line commencing at Crescent Mountain in Borland Survey District; then south-easterly along a right line to the northernmost corner of part Run 463 and the production of that line to the left bank of the Waiau River; then north-easterly along the left bank of the Waiau River to its confluence with the Redcliff Creek; then north-easterly across the mouth of the Redcliff Creek to the right bank thereof; then easterly along the right bank of the Redcliff Creek to the easternmost corner of Run 613 situated in Block XXVII, Takitimu Survey District; then south-easterly along a right line to the source of Spence Burn; then north-easterly along the Spence Burn to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Takitimu Survey District; then northerly along a right line to the most northerly point of Run 198C, Block XVII, Takitimu Survey District; then south-easterly generally along the northern boundaries of the said Run 198C to the north-easternmost corner of the said Run 198C in Block XX, Centre Hill Survey District; then north-easterly along the small stream being a branch of the Waterloo Burn to the western boundary of Run 198A; then easterly generally along the northern boundaries of Run 198A to the southernmost corner of Run 188B situated in Block XII, Centre Hill Survey District; then north-easterly generally along the south-eastern boundaries of Run 188B to the westernmost corner of Section 14, Block VII, Centre Hill Survey District; then north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Sections 14 and 15, Block VII, aforesaid, to No. 94 State Highway; then north-easterly along a right line to the westernmost corner of Section 16, Block VII, aforesaid; then north-easterly along the north-western boundary of the said Section 16 and that boundary produced to the right bank of the Oreti River; then northerly along the right bank of the aforesaid river to the western boundary of part Run 558; then northerly generally along the western boundary of the aforesaid part Run 558 to its junction with the north-eastern boundary of Run 567; then generally north-easterly and north-westerly along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Run 756 in Block III, Von Survey District; then south-westerly, generally north-westerly, and easterly, along the south-eastern, generally south-western and northern boundaries of Run 756, to the right bank of the McKellar Branch of the Greenstone River; then northerly along the right bank of the McKellar Branch of the Greenstone River to and along the western shore of Lake McKellar, to its northernmost point; then northerly along a right line to the southernmost point of Lake Howden, and northerly along the western shore of that lake to its northernmost point; then north-westerly along a right line to Mount Christina, Caples Survey District; then north-westerly along a right line in line with Barrier Peak to the Crosscut Range; then north-westerly along a right line to Mount MacPherson; then south-westerly along a right line to Mount Anau; then north-westerly along a right line through Castle Mountain and Cloudy Pass (Bligh Sound) to the sea coast, the same being the northern boundary of the Wallace County; then southerly generally along the sea coast to the tip of the south-eastern arm of George Sound; then southerly generally by right lines passing through Barrier Peaks, Mount Pisgah, Mount Lyall, Mount Owen, Forward Peak, the northernmost peak of Jackson Peaks, and Cone Peak to Flat Mountain; then southerly along a right line to the point of commencement.

The boundaries of the Lindis-Hawea Pest Destruction District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 18th day of March 1974*, are hereby redefined and as from the commencement of this order the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE LINDIS-HAWEA PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Maniototo and Vincent Counties, containing 170 500 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at Trig. A (Leaning Rock), Block XV, Wakefield Survey District, and proceeding westerly along a right line to the southernmost corner of Section 1, Block XV, aforesaid; then westerly along the southern boundaries of that section and Section 1, Block XVI, and Section 16, Block VI, Wakefield Survey District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Clutha River; then generally north-westerly up the middle of that river to its confluence with the Hawea River; then generally up the middle of that river to Lake Hawea; then generally north-easterly to and along the eastern shore of Lake Hawea and the left bank of the Hunter River to a point 100 metres north-east of “The Forks” at the source of the Hunter River in Hunter Survey District; then south-easterly along a right line to Mount Huxley; then generally south-westerly along the north-western boundary of part Run 94 to its south-western corner; then easterly along the southern boundary of that run being the southern boundary of Stafford Survey District to the middle of Dingle Burn; then generally south-westerly down the middle of Dingle Burn to a point in line with a tributary on the left bank of that Burn on a bearing of 140 degrees from Trig. R, Mid Hawea Survey District; then south-easterly to and along that tributary and the boundary of Run 724 to the right bank of the Timaru River; then generally south-westerly to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of part Run 236; then generally south-easterly to and along that boundary to the middle of Breast Creek; then easterly and southerly along the middle of that creek to its confluence with Pass Burn; then generally north-easterly to and along the northern boundary of part Run 679 and southerly along the eastern boundary of that run, Run 680, and Run 694 to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned run; then easterly along the production of the southern boundary of the last-mentioned run to the middle of Dunstan Creek; then generally southerly along the middle of that creek to a point in line with the production of the south-eastern boundary of Run 237F; then south-westerly to and along the south-eastern boundaries of that run and runs 236U, 238O, 238P, part 238K, 238L, part 238M, and the south-western side of a road to the point of commencement together with Silver Island, Lake Hawea.
