THE WAIMATE MISSION STATION

The Church Missionary Society's station at Waimate played
an important part in the development of New Zealand. Many
hundreds of Maoris were educated at the station which grew
into a village. The vicarage and the Church of St. John
have been preserved and this is an account of the past
history of the station.
