The Traffic (Opotiki County) Notice No. 2, 1974

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Opotiki County) Notice No. 2, 1974.

2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purpose of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

4. The Traffic (Opotiki County) Notice No. 1, 1974, dated the 22nd day of May 1974†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, which relates to roads situated in Opotiki County adjacent to Opotiki Borough is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that area at Opotiki contained within a line commencing at a point on the south-western end of Union Street on the bank of the Waioeka River; thence north-easterly and south-easterly generally along the bank of the Waioeka River, Opotiki Harbour, and Otara River bank, to a point adjacent to the eastern end of Duke Street, thence westerly by a right line along the southern side of Duke Street to the commencing point.

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne): from the south-western end of Forsyth Street at the eastern end of Waioeka River Bridge; to a point 100 metres measured north-westerly generally along the said State highway from Hikutaia Road.

Hikutaia Road: from the No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne) to a point 1000 metres measured south-westerly generally along the said road from the said State highway.

SECOND SCHEDULE

No. 2 State Highway (Pokeno-Wellington via Gisborne): from a point 240 metres measured southerly generally from Wellington Street along the said State highway to a point 1680 metres measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Wellington Street.

Grant Road: from Woodlands Road to a point 800 metres measured southerly generally along the said road from Woodlands Road.

The Traffic (Kapiti Borough) Notice No. 1, 1974

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Kapiti Borough) Notice No. 1, 1974, and shall come into force on the day of the creation by Order in Council of the Kapiti Borough.

2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

4. The warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 13th day of May 1940†, which relates to Paekakariki Township, the Traffic (Hutt County) Notice No. 4, 1969‡, dated the 3rd day of September 1969, which relates to Paraparaumu Beach, Raumati Beach, and Raumati South, the warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 18th day of November 1964§, which relates to Paraparaumu Township and the Traffic (Hutt County) Notice No. 1, 1974, dated the 27th day of February 1974||, which relates to Otaihanga in Hutt County are hereby all revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Kapiti Borough:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from the southern boundary of Kapiti Borough to a point 320 metres measured southerly generally along the said State highway from Kapiti Road (Paraparaumu); and from Ruahine Street (Paraparaumu) to the northern boundary of Kapiti Borough at Waikanae.

At Paekakariki:

Ames Street: from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 180 metres measured northerly generally along the said street from the said State highway.

Paekakariki Hill Road: from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to the southern boundary of Kapiti Borough.

At Raumati:

Poplar Avenue: from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to Matai Road.
