Constitution of the Masterton Hydatids Control District

At the Government House at Wellington this 5th day of August 1974

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Hydatids Act 1968, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Masterton Hydatids Control District Order 1974.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The areas comprising the County and Borough of Masterton, as from time to time constituted, are hereby declared to be united to form a hydatids control district to be called the Masterton Hydatids Control District.

  3. The Masterton County Council is hereby appointed the hydatids control authority for the Masterton Hydatids Control District.

Authorising Bay of Islands County Council to Reclaim Crown Land, at Whangae River, North Auckland

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 175 (3) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Bay of Islands County Council to reclaim from Whangae River, North Auckland, an area of 8 acres 1 rood 20 perches, more or less, as shown edged blue on plan M.D. 15315 and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

The Auckland Regional Authority Representation Order 1974

PURSUANT to section 5 (6) of the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. This order may be cited as the Auckland Regional Authority Representation Order 1974.

  2. Subsection (3) of section 5 of the Auckland Regional Authority Act 1963 shall be read as if the words “Borough of Helensville” were inserted after the word “Rodney” in paragraph (c), and as if paragraph (b) were repealed.

Member of the Port Conciliation Committee for the Port of Dunedin Appointed

PURSUANT to the Waterfront Industry Act 1953, the Minister of Labour hereby appoints

David Nelson Donaldson

to be a member of the Port Conciliation Committee of the Port of Dunedin, vice Alfred George Lovelock, resigned.

Committee of Review Under Section 12, of the Tourist and Publicity Act 1963, to Examine and Report on Government Advertising

  1. Pursuant to section 12 of the Tourist and Publicity Act 1963, the Minister in Charge of Publicity hereby appoints:

Sir Philip Proctor, K.B.E. (Chairman),
Frank Hickson Drewitt,
Laurenz Montague Enting,
Stuart Anthony Froude, and
Ashley Russ

to be a committee to examine and report on the existing practices and methods used in the development of advertising campaigns and placing of advertising for Government departments and wholly-owned Government agencies, and the procedures and methods for the placing and payment of all Government advertising in New Zealand, and to recommend accordingly.

  1. The committee shall be called the Government Advertising Committee of Review.

  2. In particular, the committee is requested:

(a) To examine the present policies and practices for the development of advertising programmes and the planning of advertising by Government departments and wholly-owned Government agencies in New Zealand, and the procedures for authorisation, control and payment of advertising accounts, and to recommend improvements;

(b) To establish whether present practices and procedures for selecting advertising agencies in New Zealand, and reviewing their performance, are satisfactory;

(c) To consider alternative methods of handling Government advertising which would be more effective or would achieve economies;

(d) To consider and report on the desirability, practicability and cost-effectiveness of the establishment of Government-owned advertising services, with the required accreditation;

(e) To review and report on the extent and effects of overseas financial investment in New Zealand advertising agencies.

  1. The committee is authorized to hold closed sessions at which evidence of a confidential nature can be heard.

  2. (a) Meetings of the committee shall be held at such times and places as the committee or the Chairman from time to time appoints;

(b) At any meeting of the committee, a member appointed by the Chairman may preside in the absence of the Chairman;

(c) At any meeting three members of the committee shall constitute a quorum;

(d) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the committee may regulate its procedure in such manner as it thinks fit.

  1. The committee shall submit its report to the Minister in Charge of Publicity by 30 November 1974.

Ashburton College—Amendment of List for Election of Governors by School Committees

PURSUANT to subclause (2) of regulation 4 of the Ashburton Combined School Regulations 1965*, the Minister of Education hereby declares that the list of schools referred to in paragraph (f) of subclause (1) of that regulation is hereby amended by adding to that list “the Ashburton Intermediate School”.
