The Traffic (Waitemata City) Notice No. 1, 1974
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.
NOTICE
-
This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waitemata City) Notice No. 1, 1974, and shall come into force on the date of the dissolution by Order in Council of the Waitemata County and the consequent creation of Waitemata City.

All roads in the city other than those specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

The Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 3, 1971, dated the 8th day of December 1971†, the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 2, 1973, dated the 27th day of July 1973‡, the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 3, 1973, dated the 6th day of September 1973§, the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice 1966, dated the 2nd day of June 1966∥, and the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 2, 1969, dated the 16th day of September 1969#, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, which relate to roads situated within Waitemata County are hereby revoked.

Forest Hill Road: from Henderson Valley Road to a point 320 metres measured south-westerly generally along Forest Hill Road from Pine Avenue.
Henderson Valley Road: from the south-western boundary of Henderson Borough to a point 640 metres measured north-westerly generally along the said road from Pine Avenue.
Parrs Cross Road: from Henderson Valley Road to a point 240 metres measured north-westerly generally along Parrs Cross Road from Holdens Road.

At Hobsonville:
Hobsonville Road: from the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford) to Brigahms Creek - Hobsonville Road and from Wisely Road to a point 320 metres measured north-easterly generally along Hobsonville Road from Brigahms Creek - Hobsonville Road.
Brighams Creek-Hobsonville Road: from Williams Road to the Crash Gates at the north-eastern end of Brigahms Creek - Hobsonville Road.

All roads on Herald Island, the causeway leading to Herald Island, Kingsway Road: from Kauri Road to the western end of the causeway leading to Herald Island.
At Kelston, Kelston West, Sunnyvale, Te Atatu:
All that area, with the exception of the No. 16 State Highway Auckland-Wellsford and Auckland-Whenuapai Motorway, and Triangle Road, bounded to the south by a line commencing at the point where the southern bank of the Swanson Stream meets the eastern side of Don Buck Road; thence south-easterly generally along the north-eastern side of Don Buck Road and Swanson Road to the northern boundary of Henderson Borough; thence easterly, southerly, and westerly generally along the northern, eastern, and southern boundaries of Henderson Borough to the south-eastern side of South Road; thence south-easterly generally to a point on the north-western side of Seymour Road, 1280 metres measured south-westerly generally along Seymour Road from Sunnyside Road; thence due south-east by a right line across Seymour Road to the western boundary of Glen Eden Borough; thence northerly and easterly generally along the western and northern boundary of Glen Eden Borough to the western boundary of New Lynn Borough; thence northerly generally along the said boundary of the southern bank of the Whau River, and bounded to the east, to the north, and to the west by the western banks of the Whau River, the banks of the Wairau Creek, the shores of the Waitemata Harbour, the banks of the Henderson Creek, the eastern bank of the Huruhuru Creek, and the southern bank of the Swanson Stream to the commencing point.
