The Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1, 1974

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport
hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Rodney County)
    Notice No. 1, 1974.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby
    declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes
    of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are
    hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for
    the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations
    1956*.

  4. The road specified in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby
    declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of
    section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, to the intent that a
    person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during
    the period commencing with the 1st day of December in each
    year and ending with the Tuesday following Easter in each
    following year shall be subject to the maximum speed limit
    of 30 miles an hour fixed by the said section.

  5. The road specified in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby
    declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the
    purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*,
    except during that period when clause 4 of this notice applies.

  6. The roads specified in the Fourth Schedule hereto are
    hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes
    of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

  7. The roads specified in the Fifth Schedule hereto are
    hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes
    of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, to the intent
    that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time
    during the period commencing with the 1st day of December
    in each year and ending with the Tuesday following Easter in
    each following year shall be subject to the maximum speed
    limit of 30 miles an hour fixed by the said section.

    1973||, the Traffic (Rodney County) Notice, 1957, dated 19
    November 1957¶, the Traffic (Rodney County) Notice No. 1,
    1970, dated 18 December 1969*, the Traffic (Rodney
    County) Notice, 1967, dated 21 August 1967††, the Traffic
    (Rodney County) Notice, 1968, dated 29 January 1968‡‡,
    the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice No. 2, 1974, dated
    19 April 1974§§, and the Traffic (Waitemata County) Notice
    No 1, 1974, dated 22 January 1974|||, under section 52 of the
    Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations
    1956
    , which relate to roads situated within Rodney
    County and Waitemata County are all hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waitemata County:

At Orewa and Red Beach:

All that area, with the exception of the No. 1 State Highway
(Awanui-Bluff), bounded by a line commencing at a point on
the coast of the Hauraki Gulf easterly generally of the terminating
point of Homestead Road; thence by a right line to
the said point of Homestead Road; thence westerly generally
by a right line across Bayes Road to the terminating point of
Rushden Terrace; thence by a right line to a point 20
metres measured southerly generally along Red Beach Road
from Bay Street; thence westerly generally by a right line
across Red Beach Road and across the No. 1 State Highway
(Awanui-Bluff) to the point where the said State highway
meets the south-western side of Moffats Road; thence north-
westerly generally along the south-western side of Moffats
Road to the bank of the Orewa River; thence northerly by a
right line across the Orewa River to the western terminating
point at Riverside Road; thence northerly generally by a
right line to the western terminating point of Florence Avenue;
thence easterly generally along the northern side of Florence
Avenue to a point 40 metres measured westerly generally
from Centreway Road; thence northerly generally by a right
line across West Hoe Road to the western terminating point
of Puriri Avenue; thence generally along the continuation
of the aforesaid right line to the bank of the Nukumea
Stream; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to a
point on the northern side of Hillcrest Road 100 metres
measured westerly generally along the said roadside from

Lancelot Road; thence easterly generally along the northern
side of Hillcrest Road to the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-
Bluff); thence due east by a right line across the said highway
to a point on the coast of the Hauraki Gulf; thence southerly
generally along the coast of the Hauraki Gulf across the
outlets of the Nukumea Stream and the Orewa River to the
commencing point.

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 60
metres measured southerly generally along the said State
highway from Beach Road to a point 40 metres measured
northerly generally along the said State highway from Florence
Avenue.

At Silverdale:

Blue Avenue.
Curleys Avenue.
Foundry Road.
Manga Road.
Old North Road.
Silverdale Street.
Tavern Road: from Foundry Road to No. 1 State Highway
(Awanui-Bluff).
Wainui Road: from Silverdale Street to No. 1 State Highway
(Awanui-Bluff).
Wharf Road.

At Stillwater:

Cockle Place.
Duck Creek Road: from Stillwater Crescent to the eastern
end of Duck Creek Road.
Flounder Point Road.
Gurnard Road.
Snapper Road.
Stillwater Crescent.

At Waiwera:

The Strand.
Wainui-Waiwera Road: from Waiwera Road to a point
320 metres measured westerly generally along Wainui-Waiwera
Road.
Waiwera Road: from The Strand to Wainui-Waiwera Road.

SITUATED within Waitemata County at Hatfield Bay:

Hamonds Avenue.
Ocean View Road.
Otanerua Road.
Sykes Avenue.

At Muriwai:

All the area bounded by a line commencing at a point on
the coast of the Tasman Sea opposite the terminating point
of Motutara Road; thence easterly generally to the said
terminating point; thence north-easterly generally along the
north-western side of Motutara Road to a point 1200 metres
measured north-easterly generally along the said roadside
from Domain Crescent; thence south-easterly generally across
Motutara Road to the north-western side of Oaia Road; thence
southerly generally along the said roadside across Waitea
Road to the southern side of Waitea Road; thence due south-
west by a right line to the coast of the Tasman Sea; thence
northerly generally along the coast of the Tasman Sea to the
commencing point.

At Parakai:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the point
where the eastern side of Parkhurst Road crosses the northern
bank of the Te Hoau Stream; thence westerly generally by a
right line across Parkhurst Road to a point 320 metres
measured westerly generally along the southern side of
Fordyce Road from Parkhurst Road; thence north-westerly
generally by a right line across Fordyce Road to a point 160
metres measured north-westerly generally along the south-
western side of Parkhurst Road from Spring Road; thence
easterly generally by a right line across Parkhurst Road to
the northern terminating point of Springs Road; thence
easterly generally along the projection of the aforesaid right
line to the bank of the Kaipara River; thence southerly
generally along the bank of the Kaipara River to the north
bank of the Te Hoau Stream; thence south-westerly generally
along the north bank of the Te Hoau Stream to the
commencing point.

SITUATED within Rodney County at Wellsford:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from Davies Road
to a point 320 metres measured northerly generally along the
said highway from School Road.

No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-Wellsford): from the No. 1
State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 32 metres measured
westerly generally along the No. 16 State Highway (Auckland-
Wellsford) from Davies Road.
