Maori Land Development Notice
Pursuant to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby gives notice as follows:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Palmerston North 1974, No. 7.
  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby revoked.
  3. The lands described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby released from Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,

Counties to be Areas in Which Owners of Cattle Shall Submit Their Cattle for Testing with the Brucellosis Test (No. 808 Ag. 20311)
Pursuant to section 53 of the Animals Act 1967, it is hereby declared that (a) all those areas specified in the Schedule hereto comprising counties (including all cities, boroughs, and town districts and other areas of land surrounded by or contiguous to such counties) shall be specified areas for compulsory brucellosis testing; and (b) on and from the date specified in the Schedule hereto every owner of cattle in every area so described as often as and in such manner as may be required by the Director-General of Agriculture and Fisheries, shall submit his cattle for brucellosis testing.

Notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired under the Forests Act 1949 as State forest land.

SPECIAL ORDER
THAT in exercise of the powers conferred on it by:
In respect of riding boundary alterations, section 23 of the Counties Act 1956, the Paparua County Council resolves by way of special order as follows:

  1. That the present boundary between the Broadfield and Ladbrooks Ridings be removed so that the original individual ridings of Broadfield and Ladbrooks as gazetted in 1953 (page 1275) be amalgamated into one riding with one representative, and named Broadfield-Ladbrooks.
  2. That the alterations hereby made shall come into force on and after the local body election on 12 October 1974, except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for such election.

SCHEDULE
BROADFIELD-LADBROOKS RIDING
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, Paparua County, containing 5105 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Halswell River in the middle of Lincoln-Taitapu Road, Block V, Halswell Survey District, being a point on the boundary of the Paparua County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1968, page 1258, and proceeding north-westerly generally along that county boundary to the middle of Selwyn Road, Block IV, Leeston Survey District; thence north-easterly along the middle of that road and Shands Road to the middle of Hamptons Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of that road, Birchs Road and Leadleys Road to the middle of Ellesmere Road; thence north-easterly along the middle of that road and its production to the middle of Knights Stream; thence southerly generally down the middle of that stream and the Halswell River to the point of commencement.

I hereby certify that the above special order of the council amalgamating the ridings of Broadfield and Ladbrooks was duly made in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act 1956.

Approval of Motorcycle Safety Helmets in Terms of Traffic Regulations 1956

PURSUANT to clause (2) of regulation 29 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves, for the purpose of the said regulations, of the motorcycle safety helmet of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE
SAFETY helmets manufactured by Messrs Stadium Ltd. and marked "Scorpion No. 277" and bearing the certification mark of the British Standards Institution, the Standard number "BSS. 1869" and the licence number 3289.
