Appointing a Member of the National Water and Soil Conservation Authority
DENIS BLUNDELL, Governor-General
PURSUANT to the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand hereby appoint
Neil Albert Algar, of Matamata, medical practitioner, nominated by the Executive Committee of the Municipal Association of New Zealand Incorporated
to be a member of the National Water and Soil Conservation Authority from and after the 15th day of July 1974.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 25th day of July 1974.

Exempting Resident Site Licence in the Nelson Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, I, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zealand, do hereby exempt the residence site licence described in the Schedule hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.
SCHEDULE
NELSON LAND DISTRICTβ€”BULLER COUNTY
ALL that area of Crown land situated at Marshallvale in Block VI, Kawatiri Survey District, as located on S.O. Plan 10575 and being residence site licence No. 12027. All certificate of title, Volume 1D, folio 536, limited as to parcels: area, 1011 square metres, more or less. Reserving nevertheless unto the Crown, firstly, in terms of section 168A of the Coal Mines Act 1925, all coal existing in its natural condition on on under the surface of the said land, and, secondly, in terms of section 8 of the Mining Act 1971, every mineral existing in its natural condition on or under the surface of the said land.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 15th day of July 1974.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Commander Simeon Basil Shaw, C.ENG., F.I.E.R.E., is placed on the Retired List with effect from 8 June 1974.
The appointment of Commander John Wilfred Harper Fullerton Dickie, O.B.E., is reduced to 20 August 1974 and he is placed on the Retired List with effect from 21 August 1974.
Commander George William Glyde is placed on the Retired List with effect from 30 July 1974.
Commander M. C. Verran is appointed Provost Marshal of the Royal New Zealand Navy with effect from 28 June 1974, vice Commander J. W. H. F. Dickie, O.B.E.
Lieutenant Commander (temp. Commander) S. C. Stephens to be Commander with seniority and effect from 5 June 1974.
Lieutenant Commander S. F. Teagle to be Commander with seniority from 15 May 1974 and effect from 24 June 1974.
Instructor Lieutenant Commander Peter Turpie, B.SC.(ENG.), DIP.ED., is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN with effect from 11 July 1974.
The appointment of Lieutenant Commander G. G. Elder is extended to 3 July 1978.
4. Appointment of Principal Local Authorities: The local authorities with the notation (P) following their names in paragraph 3 of this Order, are hereby appointed principal local authorities within the meaning and for the purposes of section 42 (3) of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941.

Reapportioning Representation of the Marlborough Catchment Board

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 22nd day of July 1974
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council
PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Marlborough Catchment District Order 1970 by first, deleting paragraphs 3, 4, and 5; secondly, substituting the new paragraphs 3 and 4 shown in the Schedule hereto; thirdly, renumbering paragraph 6 paragraph 5.
This Order in Council shall come into effect on the 11th day of October 1974.
