NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for variation of a current approval of the Minister of Customs as follows:

300 mm (12 inch), 380 mm (15 inch) double flange and spigot or socket ends, hand operated, for test pressures not exceeding 244 metres (800 ft) head of water with or without copper based trims. In accordance with BS 1218, NZS 784, BS 3464, and same purpose valves for higher pressures above standards
(8) Check valves (reflux) of iron and alloyed iron for general purposes, in nominal sizes 80 mm (3 inch), 100 mm (4 inch), 150 mm (6 inch), 200 mm (8 inch), 250 mm (10 inch), double flanged, for test pressure 244 metres (800 ft) head, free acting and external lever operated in accordance with BS 4090, not including non-concussive types

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing on or before 15 August 1974. Submissions should include a reference to the Tariff item and description of goods concerned, be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;

(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported materials used in manufacture;

(c) Present and potential output; and

(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.
