The Traffic (Waimairi County) Notice No. 2, 1974

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Waimairi County) Notice No. 2, 1974.

2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purpose of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

4. The roads specified in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 40-miles-an-hour speed limit areas for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*.

5. The Traffic (Waimairi County) Notice No. 3, 1971, dated the 12th day of November 1971† under regulations 27 and 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, which relates to roads situated within Waimairi County at Brooklands, Spencerville, and Marshland is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waimairi County at Marshland, Burwood, and Parkland:

All the roads, within the area bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the northern boundary of Christchurch City with the western side of Hills Road; thence northerly generally along that roadside across Winters Road to a point 60 metres measured westerly generally along the said roadside from Walters Road; thence north-easterly generally across Hills Road, at right angles to its south-western side, to its north-eastern side; thence south-easterly generally along that roadside to the western side of Walters Road; thence easterly generally across Walters Road, at right angles to its western side, to its eastern side; thence easterly generally along the northern side of McSaveney Road to the western side of Marshland Road; thence southerly generally along that roadside across McSaveney Road to a point 180 metres measured northerly generally along the said roadside from Briggs Road; thence easterly generally across Marshland Road, at right angles to its western side, to its eastern side; thence north-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the southern side of Mairehau Road, 260 metres measured, westerly generally along that roadside from Burwood Road; thence northerly generally across Mairehau Road, at right angles to its southern side, to its northern side; thence north-westerly generally by a right line to a point on the southern side of Prestons Road 520 metres measured westerly generally along that roadside from Burwood Road; thence northerly generally across Prestons Road, at right angles to its southern side, to its northern side; thence easterly generally along that roadside to the western side of Burwood Road; thence northerly generally along that roadside to a point, 1040 metres measured, northerly generally along the said roadside from Prestons Road; thence easterly generally across Burwood
Road, at right angles to its western side, to its eastern side; thence south-easterly generally by a right line to a point on the northern side of Mairehau Road 480 metres measured easterly generally along that roadside from Burwood Road; thence easterly generally along the north side of Mairehau Road to its intersections; thence north-easterly generally along that roadside to the north-eastern end of Inwoods Road; thence due east by a right line to the coast of the Pacific Ocean; thence southerly generally along that coastline to the northern boundary of Christchurch City; thence westerly generally along that boundary to the commencing point.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waimairi County at Marshland:

Prestons Road: from a point 640 metres measured westerly generally along Prestons Road from Marshland Road to Hill Road.

THIRD SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Waimairi County at Marshland and Woodland:

Hills Road: from a point 60 metres measured westerly generally along Hills Road from Walters Road to Prestons Road.

Marshland Road: from a point 120 metres measured northerly generally along Marshland Road from Prestons Road to a point 360 metres measured southerly generally along Mairehau Road from Prestons Road.

Prestons Road: from Marshland Road to a point 640 metres measured westerly generally along Prestons Road from Marshland Road.

5. The Traffic (Waimairi County) Notice 1967, dated the 9th day of October 1967† under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, which relates to roads situated within Waimairi County at Belfast, is hereby revoked.

SITUATED within Waimairi County at Belfast:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) from Englefield Road to a point 120 metres measured northerly generally along the said Highway from Dickeys Road.

Belfast Road: from the No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff) to a point 560 metres measured easterly generally along Belfast Road from the said highway.
