PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby consents to the land described in the Schedule hereto, being taken for the purpose of a parking place.

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

This order shall come into effect on 1 April 1975.

All that area in the Otago Land District, Taieri County, described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Taieri and included in the Borough of Mosgiel.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, Taieri County, containing 135 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing on the southern boundary of the Borough of Mosgiel at a point on the eastern side of No. 1 State Highway due east of the southernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 33, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District, and proceeding generally southerly along the eastern side of that highway to a point due east of the northernmost corner of part Section 32, Irregular Block, comprised in C.T. 258/137; thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the aforementioned title to the western boundary of part Section 32, Irregular Block, comprised in C.T. 272/97; thence southerly, along that boundary to the north-western boundary of Section 1 of 4, Block VIII, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the north-eastern boundary of part Section 34, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District; thence north-westerly along that boundary to the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 9662; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned lot and its production to the easternmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 9211; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that Lot 2 and Lot 1, D.P. 9211 to the easternmost corner of part Section 35, comprised in C.T. 264/87; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of that part Section 35 to the south-eastern side of No. 1 State Highway; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern side of that highway to the northernmost corner of Lot 3, D.P. 7573; thence southerly and south-westerly along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that Lot 3 and Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 7573 to the southernmost corner of the lastmentioned lot; thence south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 4677; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that lot to its southernmost corner; thence south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of part Section 36; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that part Section and Lot C, Deeds Plan 244, to the southernmost corner of the lastmentioned lot; thence south-westerly along a right line to the easternmost corner of Lot 1, Deeds Plan 70; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of that Lot and Lots 2, 3, and 4, Deeds Plan 70, Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 5682 and Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17, Deeds Plan 70 to the southernmost corner of the lastmentioned lot; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of that lot and its production to the north-western side of No. 1 State Highway; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of that highway to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 10872; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 10872, and along a right line to the southernmost corner of Lot 4, D.P. 7572; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Lots 4 and 6, D.P. 7572, to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, D.P. 10404; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Lot 2 D.P. 10404, Lot 1, D.P. 10036 and the production of the lastmentioned boundary to the north-western side of Gladstone Road; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of Gladstone Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of part Section 22, Irregular Block on the south-western boundary of the Borough of Mosgiel; thence south-easterly to and along the north-eastern boundary of part Section 22 aforesaid, and the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 2 and 1, Deeds Plan 255, to the easternmost corner of the lastmentioned lot; thence south-westerly along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 1 and its production to the north-eastern side of No. 1 State Highway; thence generally south-easterly along the generally north-eastern side of that highway to the southernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 33; thence due east to the point of commencement.

Union of Waipukurau County and Patangata County

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

O R D E R

This order shall come into effect on 1 July 1974.

The district of Waipukurau County and the district of Patangata County shall be united to form one county under the name of “Waipukurau County” (hereinafter referred to as “the said County”).

The councils of the former Counties of Waipukurau and Patangata shall be dissolved.
-
The said County shall be divided into 3 ridings with the following names and boundaries:
(a) Patangata Riding comprising the areas of the Patangata, Oero, Tamumu, Pourerere, and Matangatarata ridings of the former county of Patangata.
(b) Porangahau Riding comprising the areas of the Porangahau and Eparaima ridings of the former county of Patangata.
(c) Waipukurau Riding comprising the area of the former county of Waipukurau.

The council of the said County (hereinafter referred to as the “said Council”) shall comprise 10 members, of whom 4 shall be elected by the electors of Patangata Riding, 3 by the electors of the Porangahau Riding and 3 by the electors of the Waipukurau Riding.

The first election of members of the said Council shall be held on the date fixed for the next triennial election of members of County Councils pursuant to the provisions of the Local Elections and Polls Act 1966.
