Commencing at a point on the M.H.W.M. of the Tasman Sea at Bell Point, being a point approximately 3.5 kilometres north of Sutherland Sound, and proceeding along the sea coast in a southerly direction generally to a point at the eastern end of George Sound on the eastern side of the George Sound to Lake Thomson track; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern side of the aforesaid track, the north-eastern shore of Lake Thomson, the north-eastern side of a track between Lake Thomson and Lake Hankinson to the shore of Lake Hankinson; thence in a southerly direction generally along the eastern shore of Lake Hankinson, and the eastern side of a track to the shore of the northwest Arm Middle Fiord of Lake Te Anau; thence north-easterly generally along the shore of Lake Te Anau to a point 900 metres past Felspar Point; thence northerly along a ridge to the mountain, height 1482.8 metres, on the mountain range forming the watershed between the Clinton River and Indecision Creek; thence north-westerly along the summit of the aforesaid range, through Mount Fisher and Castle Mountain on the watershed between Castle River and the West Branch Clinton River to Coulour Peak; thence northerly along the eastern watershed of a tributary of the Light River and the eastern watershed of the Light River, through Mount McKenzie and Twin Sisters, to the Lady of the Snows; thence north-westerly along the southwestern watershed of a river draining into Poison Bay, to Rugged Mountain; thence western and northerly along leading ridges to the point of commencement.

The wilderness area will be subject to the restrictions imposed by section 34 of the National Parks Act 1952 and by the Fiordland National Park By-laws.
