administrative authority in preserving Her Majesty's rights
and sovereignty and the laws and regulations in force in the
Dependency; and to hold office and exercise the duties thereof
during pleasure.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Relinquishments,
Cancellations, Transfers, and Resignations of Officers in
the New Zealand Cadet Forces

PURSUANT to section 59 of the Defence Act 1971, the Minister
of Defence hereby approves the following appointments,
promotions, extensions, relinquishments, cancellations, transfers, and resignations of officers of the New Zealand Cadet
Forces:

SCHOOL CADET CORPS

Appointment

Kevin John Gledhill is appointed to a commission in the
rank of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) with effect from 2 August
1973.

AIR TRAINING CORPS

Appointments

Bruce James Moffett is appointed to a commission in the
rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect
from 16 August 1973.

Raymond Ronald Leslie Harrison is appointed to a commission in the rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years
with effect from 26 August 1973.

William Barry Cardiff is appointed to a commission in
the rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect
from 10 September 1973.

John Fordon McHardy is appointed to a commission in
the rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect
from 11 September 1973.

Promotion

Flying Officer J. W. Findlay to be Flight Lieutenant with
effect from 25 July 1973.

Extensions

Flight Lieutenant J. W. Delaney is granted an extension
of his commission until 9 June 1976.

Flight Lieutenant G. S. Geddes is granted an extension
of his commission with effect from 6 August 1973 until 31
December 1973.

Flight Lieutenant W. B. French is granted an extension
of his commission until 7 August 1976.

Flight Lieutenant R. K. Yule is granted an extension of
his commission until 12 August 1976.

Flight Lieutenant M. R. Cambell is granted an extension
of his commission until 22 August 1976.

Flight Lieutenant W. J. Wells is granted an extension of
his commission until 22 August 1975.

Flying Officer B. A. Cullen is granted an extension of
his commission until 19 August 1976.

Flying Officer D. M. Williams is granted an extension
of his commission until 22 August 1976.

Flying Officer R. A. Andrew is granted an extension of
his commission until 4 September 1976.

Flying Officer N. J. Fitzsimmons is granted an extension
of his commission until 18 September 1976.

Resignation

Pilot Officer Robert Geoffrey Hooker resigns his commission
with effect from 28 August 1973.

Transfer From Supernumerary List

Pilot Officer M. W. Duncan is appointed for duty to No. 17
(Christchurch) Squadron with effect 20 August 1973.

Appointing the Chairman and a Member of the Engineering
Associates Registration Board

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Engineering Associates Registration Act 1961, with effect from the 1st day of April 1974,
the Minister of Works hereby appoints Charles Joseph Tustin,
Esquire, civil engineer, of Lower Hutt, as chairman of the
Board and Cyril John Mulley Choat, Esquire, retired mechanical engineer, of Wellington, a member of the Board. Until
the above effective date Mr Tustin will remain a member of
the Board and Mr Choat will continue as chairman thereof.

Appointment of Maori Wardens Under the Maori Welfare
Act 1962

PURSUANT to subsection (1) of section 7 of the Maori Welfare
Act 1962, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby appoints
the persons respectively named in the first column of the
Schedule hereto to be Maori wardens for the areas of the
Maori Associations respectively specified in the second column
of such Schedule opposite the name of each such person.
