The Motor Launch (Lake Camp) Notice 1973—Ashburton County Council
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice:
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Lake Camp) Notice 1973.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force until further notice.
- Subject to the conditions set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962 shall not apply between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. with respect to the areas of water described in the First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
- All that area of water at the western end of Lake Camp bounded within lines as follows:
(a) Commencing at a marker post situated at a point on the edge of the lake bearing 133 degrees 30 minutes distant 244 links from the southern side of the cattle stop on the Gorge Road thence out into the lake on a bearing of 122 degrees.
(b) Commencing at a marker post situated at a point on the edge of the lake bearing 198 degrees 30 minutes distant 129 links from the corner of a fence at the southern extremity of a plantation thence out into the lake on a bearing of 121 degrees 30 minutes.
- All that area of water at the eastern end of Lake Camp bounded within lines as follows:
(a) Commencing at a marker post situated at a point on the edge of the lake in a direction 31 degrees 30 minutes distant 134 links from a fence thence out into the lake on a bearing of 238 degrees 30 minutes.
(b) Commencing at a marker post situated at a point on the edge of the lake in a direction 321 degrees 30 minutes distant 140 links from the western corner of the Clearwater Aquatic Clubhouse thence out into the lake on a bearing of 238 degrees.
- All the remaining waters of the lake not within 50 yd of any part of the lakeshore.
SECOND SCHEDULE

There shall be erected at the positions described in the First Schedule four marker posts at least 6 ft high, painted with 12 in. bright orange and black bands.

On each side of the transit posts there shall be fastened a notice board measuring not less than 2 ft 6 in. by 2 ft painted bright orange with black lettering in the following form:
“NOTICE
MOTOR LAUNCH REGULATIONS 1962
Access lane through which motor launches
and water skiers may pass at speeds greater
than 5 miles per hour between the hours of
9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
BATHERS KEEP OUT”
- Marker buoys of a resilient plastic either barrel, drum, or spherical shaped, painted orange with a vertical black stripe, shall be moored along each boundary line 25 yd apart commencing 25 yd from the marker posts.

The Central Canterbury Electric Power Board Electric Lines Licence 1965, Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby amends the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board Electric Lines Licence 1965* by adding to the First Schedule thereto the following paragraph:
“together with a line from a point on the north-eastern side of Halswell Junction Road crossing the said road in a generally south-westerly direction, all being situated in Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District, the said line being more particularly shown by a red line on the plan marked NZED 882 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.”

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Maruia Hot Springs Chateau Ltd. by the Use of Water
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Maruia Hot Springs Chateau Ltd., of Lewis Pass, by the use of water, subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS
-
The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934, to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity, shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations, hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968, to generate electricity by the use of water.

The generation of electricity by the use of water pursuant to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1988, or until electricity is available from an electrical supply authority, whichever is the earlier.

This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 72 kW.
REVOCATION
THIS licence is issued in place of a licence held by Maruia Hot Springs Hotel Ltd. (Gazette, 4 August 1966, p. 1228).
SCHEDULE
(a) Headworks consisting of an intake, with a water race, penstock, and pipeline, leading to the pelton wheel and powerhouse, giving a static head of approximately 400 ft.
(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in part Section 2, Square 182, Block I, Travers Survey District.
(c) Tailrace leading from the powerhouse to the Maruia River.
As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 886 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.
