Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Relinquishments,
Cancellations, Transfers, and Resignations of Officers in
the New Zealand Cadet Forces
PURSUANT to section 59 of the Defence Act 1971, the
Minister of Defence hereby approves the following appoint-
ments, promotions, extensions, relinquishments, cancellations,
transfers, and resignations of Officers of the New Zealand
Cadet Forces:
SCHOOL CADET CORPS
Appointments
Kenneth John Crawford is appointed to a commission in
the rank of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) with effect from
25 June 1973.
Ian David Francis is appointed to a commission in the
rank of 2nd Lieutenant (on prob.) with effect from 25 June
1973.
Peter Frank Thompson is appointed to a commission in
the rank of 2nd Lieutenant with effect from 12 July 1973.
Transfers to Supernumerary List
Lieutenant S. W. Cowles is transferred to the Supernumerary
List for 2 years with effect from 12 May 1973.
Terminations
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant Ross Charles Boyce
is terminated with effect from 1 May 1973.
The appointment of Lieutenant Fredrick Sidney Strickson
is terminated with effect from 1 June 1973.
AIR TRAINING CORPS
Appointments
Philip Leslie Marsh is appointed to a commission in the
rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect from
5 June 1973.
Graham Lawson Bruce is appointed to a commission in
the rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect
from 11 June 1973.
Evan Wallis Plank is appointed to a commission in the
rank of Pilot Officer for a period of 4 years with effect
from 26 June 1973.
Promotions
Pilot Officer P. M. Vaughan to be Flying Officer with
effect from 1 June 1973.
Pilot Officer R. M. Evans to be Flying Officer with effect
from 4 June 1973.
Temporary Flight Lieutenant I. T. Sinclair to be Flight
Lieutenant with effect from 9 June 1973.
Pilot Officer H. J. Wall to be Flying Officer with effect
from 5 July 1973.
Extension
Flight Lieutenant M. F. Brister is granted an extension
of his commission until 30 June 1976.
Termination
The appointment of Flying Officer Michael John Judd is
terminated with effect from 1 June 1973.
Transfer
Pilot Officer D. F. Jowett is transferred from 26 ATC
Sqn. to Waitaki Boys High School with effect from
1 July 1973.
Transfers to Supernumerary List
Flying Officer Kenneth John Lynch is transferred to the
Supernumerary List for 3 years with effect from 4 April
1973.
Pilot Officer John Hagen Jensen is transferred to the Super-
numerary List for 1 year with effect from 31 May 1973.

Appointment of Additional Judge of the Court of Appeal
PURSUANT to section 58 (1A) of the Judicature Act 1908,
His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to
appoint
The Hon. David Stuart Beattie
a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, to be an
additional Judge of the Court of Appeal for a period from
the 6th day of August 1973 to the 31st day of October 1973,
both days inclusive, and to revoke the appointment to the
Court of Appeal of
The Hon. John Charles White
on and from the 31st day of July 1973.

to exercise the domestic jurisdiction of the Magistrate’s Court,
and to revoke the appointment of

to exercise such domestic jurisdiction.
