Tariff Notice No. 1973/67—Application for Exclusion from Determination

NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for exclusion of goods as follows from a current determination of the Minister of Customs and for admission of such goods at the rates of duty prescribed under the substantive Tariff item therefor:

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing on or before 12 July 1973. Submissions should include a reference to the application number, Tariff item, and description of goods concerned, be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported materials used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as Maori Reservations

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated 5 December 1951 and published in New Zealand Gazette, 13 December 1951, No. 91, p. 1836, the land described in the First Schedule hereto was set apart as a Maori reservation, and whereas by Order in Council dated 6 July 1960 and published in New Zealand Gazette, 14 July 1960, No. 42, p. 916, the land described in the Second Schedule hereto was set apart as Maori reservations, and whereas the said lands are now, by order of the Maori Land Court dated 20 June 1972, pursuant to section 182 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, contained in the land known as Kaiwhaiki 1A1 Block, and whereas it is now desired to extend the reservations as recommended by the Maori Land Court; now, therefore, pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, notice is hereby given as follows.

NOTICE

  1. The reservation constituted by Order in Council dated 5 December 1951 and published in New Zealand Gazette, 13 December 1951, No. 91, p. 1836, relating to the land described in the First Schedule hereto is hereby cancelled.

  2. The reservations constituted by Order in Council dated 6 July 1960 and published in New Zealand Gazette, 14 July 1960, No. 42, p. 916, relating to the land described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby cancelled.

  3. The lands described in the Third Schedule hereto are hereby set apart as Maori reservations for the purposes set out in the said Third Schedule, such reservations to be for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ngapaerangi hapu of the Wainuiarua tribe.

7 0 16.6 Part Kaiwhaiki 1A1 situated in Block XIV, Waipakura Survey District. Recreation ground, sports ground, residential and building site, and spring, well, or other source of water supply and for growing vegetables.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan deposited in the Maori Land Court, Wanganui, on 19 October 1972, in support of an application to extend the area of the reservations.
