Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:

REGULAR FORCE

Colonels' List

Colonel (temp. Brigadier) R. W. K. Ainge, O.B.E., to be Brigadier, and is transferred to the Brigadiers' List with seniority and effect from 19 July 1972.

ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY

Lieutenant-Colonel R. K. G. Porter to be Acting Colonel with effect from 26 February 1973 and temp. Colonel with effect from 5 March 1973.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMOURED CORPS

Captain (temp. Major) I. J. Duthie to be Major with seniority and effect from 12 December 1972.

THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS

Captain Robin Frank Jones is posted to the Retired List with effect from 1 May 1973.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) R. A. Sampson, M.E.(Civ.), to be Captain with seniority and effect from 11 December 1972.

Lieutenant B. A. Stewart is re-engaged until 27 April 1978, with effect from 28 April 1973.

Major D. S. McIver to be temp. Lieutenant-Colonel with effect from 25 March 1973.

Captain and Quartermaster John Edward Coursey is posted to the Retired List with effect from 10 May 1973.

Captain and Quartermaster W. Elliott to be temp. Major and Quartermaster with effect from 15 January 1973.

Captain (temp. Major) and Quartermaster Brian Patrick Martin is posted to the Retired List in the rank of Major and Quartermaster with effect from 1 April 1973.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) P. O. Maguire to be Captain with seniority and effect from 11 December 1972.

Major Charles Denis Frederick Green is posted to the Retired List with effect from 9 May 1973.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS

The appointment of Brigadier A. H. Andrews, C.B.E., B.E.(MECH.) as Colonel Commandant, RNZAOC, is extended for a further period of 2 years with effect from 1 April 1973.

Matron M. E. Traill is re-engaged until 19 December 1973, with effect from 5 April 1973.

Matron Florence Ellen McGilvary is posted to the Retired List with effect from 15 May 1973.

Charge Sister S. A. Griffin is re-engaged until 23 July 1974 with effect from 5 April 1973.

Charge Sister E. V. Wallace is re-engaged until 10 May 1974 with effect from 5 April 1973.

Charge Sister Alison Dorothy Mohi McBurnie, is transferred from the Territorial Force, on a 15 month engagement, with effect from 26 February 1973.

Charge Sister Lynley Grace Paterson resigns her commission with effect from 26 February 1973.
