Tariff Notice No. 1973/55—Application for Determination

Notice is hereby given that an application has been made for determination of rates of duty by the Minister of Customs as follows:

Any person wishing to lodge objections to the granting of this application should do so in writing on or before 14 June 1973. Submissions should include a reference to the application number, Tariff item and description of goods concerned, be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and supported by information as to:

(a) The quality, range, supply, etc., of the above-described goods produced in New Zealand; and

(b) The landed cost and selling price, including c.d.v. and cost into store in terms of f.o.b., insurance, freight, exchange, other landing charges, duty etc., of equivalent goods of overseas origin.

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 354—Inquiry Concerning Protection for New Zealand Industry Producing Fish, Crustaceans, and Molluscs and Preparations Thereof of Tariff Headings Ex 16.04 and Ex 16.05—Amendment to Notice No. 341

Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 341 (New Zealand Gazette of 29 March 1973) gave notification of a hearing to be held on Tuesday, 21 August 1973, concerning protection for New Zealand industry producing fish preparations of Tariff item 16.04.009, fish preserved in airtight containers of Tariff item 16.04.019 and preparations of crustaceans and molluscs of Tariff item 16.05.009.
In response to a recommendation from the Board, the Minister of Customs has agreed to include within the terms of reference of this inquiry Tariff items 16.04.011, 16.04.012, 16.04.013, 16.04.014, 16.04.029, 16.05.011, and 16.05.019. A consolidated list of all the goods now included in this inquiry, together with the current rates of duty, is appended in the Schedule to this notice.
