Notification of Result of General Licensing Poll

PURSUANT to the Licensing Act 1908, I, Allan Martyn Finlay, Minister of Justice, hereby give notice that, at the General Licensing Poll held on 25 November 1972, valid votes were recorded as follows:

For National Continuance .. .. .. 931,778
For State Purchase and Control .. .. .. 244,003
For National Prohibition .. .. .. 203,791

Total valid votes .. .. .. 1,379,572

As the total number of valid votes recorded for either State purchase and control or national prohibition does not amount to more than one-half of all the valid votes recorded at the poll, the result of the poll is that national continuance is deemed to have been carried.

Cancellation of the Vesting in the Te Kuiti Borough Council of Part of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby cancels the vesting in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the Borough of Te Kuiti of that part of the reserve for reservoir and water supply purposes described in the Schedule hereto.

Change of the Purpose of a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a reserve for the preservation of flora and fauna to a reserve for wildlife management purposes.

Change of the Purpose of Part of a Reserve to Scenic Purposes and Addition of the Reserve to Mangaokewa Gorge Scenic Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby changes the purpose of that part of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto from a reserve for reservoir and water supply purposes to a reserve for scenic purposes, and further, declares the said reserve to form part of the Mangaokewa Gorge Scenic Reserve, to be administered as a scenic reserve by the Te Kuiti Borough Council.
