55. Parcels Rates

56. Parcels will be conveyed at the following rates:

2. Terminal Charge—In addition to the above rates, a charge of 15c for each 26 kg or part thereof will be made for each parcel (except parcels chargeable on grouped weight vide section 54, paragraph 6 (b)) consigned to the following stations:

3. Conditions—(a) The department does not undertake to convey packages exceeding 102 kg in weight or 0.6m³ in measurement at parcels rates, but where any such package is tendered for transit it may be accepted provided the dimensions or weight of the package are such as will not cause inconvenience in handling. Where any such parcel is accepted for transit the charges for the weight in excess of 102 kg will be treated as a separate consignment.
   (b) Parcels must be at the station at least 30 minutes before the due time of departure of the train by which they are to be forwarded.
