Tariff Notice No. 1973/132—Application for Variation of Approval
NOTICE is hereby given that an application has been made for variation of a current approval of the Minister of Customs as follows:

(2) Pliable, (other than quilted), including adhesive backed products, printed and/or embossed with an overall pattern and whether or not reinforced with textile or threads, commonly used for making soft furnishings, and apparel (including footwear), perambulators, umbrellas, wallets, handbags, and similar articles, and for covering furniture, and for articles fabricated by high frequency welding
EXCLUDING:
(a) Self-adhesive and pressure sensitised products peculiar to use for covering walls and furniture
(b) Printed and/or embossed paper backed products commonly used for covering walls
(c) Goods of polyvinyl chloride type of Tariff item 39.02.139 and 39.02.159 except:
(i) Multi-coloured registered prints
(ii) Sueded or flocked film and sheet
(iii) Bonded fibre, felt or paper backed sheet and film, breathable
(iv) P.V.C. foam, skinless, open cell
(v) P.V.C. foam, on declaration for use in the manufacture of handbags
(vi) Glass clear P.V.C. film and sheet
(d) Packaging films of polyethylene, nylon and ionomer | | | | | | | |
Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of this application should do so in writing on or before 29 November 1973. Submissions should include a reference to the Tariff item and description of goods concerned, be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and supported by information as to:
(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;
(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported materials used in manufacture;
(c) Present and potential output; and
(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.
