  1. A licence issued subject to this notification shall entitle the holder thereof to hunt or kill game on that portion of the flood bed of the Pareora River which lies within the South Canterbury Acclimatisation District during the period and subject, mutatis mutandis, to the conditions prescribed in this notification fixing the open season for that district.

Special Conditions

  1. Persons holding valid game shooting licences for the Westland Acclimatisation District may, without taking out a further game licence, shoot in that portion of the Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District included in the Westland Land District. The conditions prescribed in this notification in respect of the Southern Lakes Acclimatisation District shall apply in this area.

  2. No person shall, on the waters of Lake Mahinapua, for the purpose of hunting or killing game, use any fixed stand, pontoon, hide, maimai, or loo, except within 45 metres from the margin of the lake waters.

The Taranaki Polytechnic (Amending) Notice 1973

Pursuant to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Taranaki Polytechnic (Amending) Notice 1973.

(2) This notice shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  1. There shall be a Board of Governors to be known as the Council of the Taranaki Polytechnic.

  2. The Council of the Taranaki Polytechnic shall be constituted as follows:

(a) Two members elected by the governing bodies of secondary schools in the provincial district of Taranaki;

(b) Two members appointed by the Taranaki Local Bodies Association, one of which shall be appointed on the nomination of the New Plymouth City Council;

(c) Two members elected by the associations of employers in the provincial district of Taranaki;

(d) Two members elected by the associations of employees in the provincial district of Taranaki;

(e) One member appointed by the Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Taranaki Provincial District);

(f) One member elected by the Taranaki Branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants and the Taranaki Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Management;

(g) One member appointed by the Taranaki Branch of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers;

(h) The Director-General of Education, or his nominee; and

(i) Three members co-opted by the Council itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the members of the Council of the Taranaki Polytechnic shall hold office for a term of 3 years, but may from time to time be re-appointed or re-elected.

(2) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, every member shall hold office until the 31st day of May in the third year after the year of his appointment or election, and if on the 31st day of May the appointment or election of his successor has not been notified to the Council he shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment or election is notified.

(3) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Council or the chairman or the secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings of the Council for 3 consecutive months, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter at the appointment or election of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed or elected, and the member appointed or elected to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaced.

(4) The powers of the Council shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

  1. The Taranaki Polytechnic Notice 1973* is hereby revoked.

Dunstan High School Board of Governors Notice 1973

Pursuant to section 54 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Dunstan High School Board of Governors Notice 1973.

(2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of June 1973.

  1. The Board of Governors of Dunstan High School shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Otago Education Board;

(b) Six members elected by the parents of pupils attending the school;

(c) One member elected by the members of the School Committees of the Alexandra School, the Blacks School, the Clyde School, the Lauder Railways School, the Omakau School, and the Terrace School;

(d) One member appointed by the Alexandra Borough Council and the Vincent County Council;

(e) One member appointed by the Central Otago Executive of the Women's Division of the Federated Farmers and the Central Otago Federation of the Country Women's Institute; and

(f) One member co-opted by the Board itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. The Otago Education Board shall cease to control Dunstan High School and the sole control of that school shall be vested in the Board of Governors constituted by clause 2 of this notice.
