Alteration and Redefinition of Boundaries of Te Puke Pest
Destruction District (Notice No. 410 Ag. 20891A)

At the Government House at Wellington this 18th day of
December 1972
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967,
His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby
makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. (a) This order may be cited as the Te Puke Pest Destruction District Order 1972.
    (b) This order shall come into force on the day after
    the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The boundaries of the Te Puke Pest Destruction District
    which was constituted by Order in Council on the 14th day
    of September 1955* are hereby altered and redefined and,
    as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of
    the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule
    hereto.

SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF TE PUKE PEST DESTRUCTION DISTRICT
ALL that area in the South Auckland Land District, Tauranga
County, Tauranga City and Mt. Maunganui and Te Puke
Boroughs, containing 179,300 acres, more or less, bounded
by a line commencing at Trig. Station 27, “Puwhenua”, at the
easternmost corner of Taumata No. 2 in Block VII, Tapapa
East Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly along the
north-eastern boundaries of Taumata No. 2 and Paengaroa
No. 1 to and generally northerly down the middle of the
Mangapapa River and the middle of the Wairoa River to and
generally easterly, south-easterly, and north-westerly along
the shores of the Tauranga Harbour to and generally north-
easterly and south-easterly along the shores of the Bay of
Plenty to the middle of the mouth of the Kaituna River
diversion adjacent to the eastern boundary of Section 3,
Block VI, Te Tumu Survey District; thence southerly up the
middle of that river diversion and generally westerly and
southerly up the middle of the Kaituna River, to and up the
middle of the Mangaorewa River, to and up the middle
of the Ohaupara Stream to the western boundary of the
Tauranga County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1968,
p. 1257; thence northerly along that boundary to the point of
commencement.

Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following
appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations,
and retirements of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air
Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE
GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Appointments
THE following are appointed to short-service commissions (on
probation) for a period to expire on 21 September 1984, to be
followed by 4 years on the Reserve of Air Force Officers;
they are appointed in the rank of Acting Pilot Officer with
effect from 22 September 1972:
Officer Cadet Timothy Michael Cotter (J85545).
Officer Cadet Adrian Michael St. John Filsell (K85546).
Officer Cadet Peter Andrew Hay (X85581).
Officer Cadet John Gerard Smith (J85315).
Officer Cadet Ross Edward Travers (A481689).
Leading Aircraftman Malcolm Fergus Devereux (A84134).
The following are appointed to short-service commissions
(on probation) for a period to expire on 21 September 1980,
to be followed by a period of 4 years on the Reserve of Air
Force Officers; they are appointed in the rank of Acting
Pilot Officer, with effect from 22 September 1972:
Officer Cadet Brian Anthony Compton (M393955).
Officer Cadet Robert John Irwin (S84587).
Leading Aircraftman Geoffrey Alan Cooper (E83034).

Transfer to Reserve
Flight Lieutenant Denis Patrick Cahill, B.A., is transferred
to the Reserve of Air Force Officers, with effect from 5 August
1972.
Flight Lieutenant Douglas David Gawne is transferred to
the Reserve of Air Force Officers until 14 November 1976,
with effect from 15 November 1972.

Transfer to Retired List
Squadron Leader Merlyn Cecil Preece is transferred to the
Retired List “A” with effect from 4 November 1972.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SUPPLY BRANCH
Transfer in Branch
Secretarial Division
Flight Lieutenant P. J. W. Strugnell is transferred to the
Special Duties Division, in his present rank and seniority,
with effect from 17 September 1972, and his commission is
reduced to 16 September 1973, followed by 4 years on the
Reserve of Air Force Officers.

Transfer to Reserve
Secretarial Division
Squadron Leader Ralph Lionel Sutton, M.MAR., A.N.Z.I.M.,
is transferred to the Reserve of Air Force Officers until
30 June 1976, with effect from 25 August 1972.

Appointment
Special Duties Division
Flight Lieutenant M. B. Knowles, M.N.Z.I.B.I., is appointed
to a permanent commission with effect from 10 November
1972.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS
Transfer
Squadron Leader G. C. Hitchcock, D.F.C., M.D., M.B., CH.B.,
M.C.P.A., is transferred from the Active Reserve to the General
Reserve until 7 December 1977, with effect from 14 October
1972.

Retirements
Squadron Leader Charles Magnus Lennie is retired with
effect from 19 November 1972.
Flight Lieutenant Arthur Douglas Bayly is retired with effect
from 26 November 1972.
Flight Lieutenant West Radcliffe England is retired with
effect from 3 December 1972.
Flight Lieutenant Albert Roy Hunter Stevenson is retired
with effect from 23 November 1972.
Flight Lieutenant Edwin Elijah Carpenter is retired with
effect from 28 November 1972.
Flight Lieutenant Charles Humphrey Edmands is retired
with effect from 4 December 1972.
