Further Extending the Duration of Licence Authorising the North Canterbury Electric Power Board to Use Electric Lines Within the North Canterbury Electric Power District and Outer Area of Such District
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby amends the North Canterbury Electric Power Board Electric Lines Licence 1959*, as amended by the amendments specified in the Schedule hereto, by extending the duration of the said licence until the 31st day of May 1973.

The Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board Electricity Supply Licence 1972, Amendment No. 1
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby amends the Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board Electricity Supply Licence 1972* by adding to the Second Schedule thereto the following paragraph:
“A line commencing from a point in D.P. 4268 and proceeding generally north-easterly crossing the Pauatahanui-Paekakariki Road into D.P. 11960 thence generally easterly, all being situated in Block III, Paekakariki Survey District, the said line being more particularly shown as a red line on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 869 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.”

Cancellation of a Licence to Erect and Use Electric Lines
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity, with the consent of the licensee, hereby cancels a licence dated the 30th day of May 1962 authorising the Auckland City Council to erect and use certain electric lines on Motuihi Island in the Hauraki Gulf (Gazette, 7 June 1962, p. 886).

Cancellation of a Licence to Use Water Power
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity, with the consent of the licensee, hereby cancels a licence dated the 14th day of November 1969 authorising Lancelot John Brown and Margaret June Brown to use water for the purpose of generating electricity (Gazette, 27 November 1969, p. 2368).

Licensing the Auckland Regional Authority to Erect and Use Electric Lines in the City of Auckland and Surrounding Boroughs
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby licenses the Auckland Regional Authority, subject to the following conditions, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.
CONDITIONS
-
This licence is subject to compliance with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations.

The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraph (j) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, and shall be a two-wire direct-current system at a pressure nominally rated at 550 volts for supply to the licensee’s trackless trolley omnibus system.

This licence shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1993.

In respect of the lines over the parking area between Gaunt Street and Pakenham Street the following conditions will also apply:
(i) The licensee shall erect a gas-tight fence to a design and standard approved by the Chief Inspector of Explosives being not less than 8 ft in height and extending from Pakenham Street to Gaunt Street along or near the boundary between the parking area in the licensee’s depot and the adjoining property of Caltex (N.Z.) Ltd., bounded by the licensee’s depot and Pakenham Street, Daldy Street, and Gaunt Street, and shall, during the currency of this licence or for so long as the property of Caltex (N.Z.) Ltd. is used for the storage of petroleum products, maintain the said fence in a gas-tight condition to the satisfaction of the Chief Inspector of Explosives.
(ii) If at any time to the knowledge of the licensee the fence ceases to be gas-tight, the licensee shall immediately inform the Chief Inspector of Explosives, and the lines shall be made dead.
(iii) The lines, after having been made dead shall not be livened up again until the fence has been made gas-tight to the satisfaction of the Chief Inspector of Explosives and he has authorised the livening up of the lines.
(iv) The Chief Inspector of Explosives shall at all times be the sole judge of whether the fence is gas-tight or not and whether the lines, having been made dead, may be livened up again or not, and his decision shall be final.
SCHEDULE
LINES for the transmission of electrical energy by the system of supply described along certain routes as follows:
(1) Queen Street Shuttle and Railway Service:
(a) Lines for one-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Customs Street with Queen Street and proceeding northerly along Queen Street to its junction with Tyler Street; thence easterly along Tyler Street to its junction with Commerce Street; thence southerly along Commerce Street to its junction with Customs Street East.
(b) Lines for two-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Customs Street with Queen Street and proceeding southerly along Queen Street to its junction with Karangahape Road; thence westerly along Karangahape Road to its junction with Pitt Street.
(c) Lines for two-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Greys Avenue with Queen Street and proceeding south-westerly along Greys Avenue to its junction with Pitt Street.
(d) Lines for two-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Anzac Avenue with Beach Road and proceeding south-easterly along Beach Road to its junction with the road giving access to the main entrance of the Auckland Railway Station.
(e) Lines for one-way traffic commencing at the intersection of Beach Road with the road giving access to the main entrance of the Auckland Railway Station and proceeding easterly, southerly, westerly, and northerly along the last-mentioned road to the said intersection.
The lines being more particularly shown by means of red lines on the plan marked N.Z.E.D. 853, deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.
