Appointment of Licensing Authorities for Issue of Heavy Traffic Licences

PURSUANT to subclause (2) of regulation 18 of the Motor Vehicle Taxation Regulations 1966*, the Minister of Transport hereby appoints, as from the 31st day of May 1973, the Kawerau Borough Council to be the licensing authority for the purpose of collecting heavy traffic fees due under the said regulations for the Kawerau Borough.

Provided that the Secretary for Transport shall be the licensing authority in the case of all heavy motor vehicles owned by the Crown, as provided by subclause (1) of the said regulation.

The Traffic (Rotorua City and Rotorua County) Notice No. 1, 1972

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.


NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Rotorua City and Rotorua County) Notice No. 1, 1972.

  2. The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 40-miles-an-hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956.

  4. So much of the Traffic (Rotorua City and Rotorua County) Notice No. 1, 1970, dated the 14th day of May 1970* under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to Rotorua City and Rotorua County is hereby revoked.


FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rotorua City:

No. 5 State Highway (Tirau-Napier via Rotorua and Taupo) (from the southern boundary of Rotorua City to a point 23 chains measured north-easterly generally along the said State highway from Old Taupo Road).


SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Rotorua City and Rotorua County adjacent to Rotorua City:

Pukehangi Road (from Utahina Road to a point 12 chains measured north-westerly generally along Pukehangi Road from Malfroy Road).
