Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 31) 1972

PURSUANT to regulation 16 of the Import Control Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 31) 1972.

(b) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Goods of the class specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff Heading in the Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by Henry Robert King-Turner, Farmer, of Havelock, by the Use of Water

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity hereby consents to the generation of electricity by Henry Robert King-Turner, farmer, of Havelock, by the use of water, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934 to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

  2. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

  3. The generation of electricity by the use of water pursuant to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

  4. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 1987 or until electricity is available from an electrical supply authority, whichever is the earlier.

  5. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  6. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 6 kW.

SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

a. Headworks consisting of a weir and intake giving a static head of 200 ft.

b. Pipeline from headworks to pond and then to the powerhouse, all being situated in Sections 1 and 6, Block XII, Orieri Survey District.

c. Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity.

d. Tail race leading from the powerhouse to stream.

As shown on the plan market N.Z.E.D. 852 deposited in the office of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

Declaring Land in the Westland Land District to be Crown Land and Subject to the Land Act 1948

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act 1925, the Minister of Mines hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be Crown Land subject to the Land Act 1948.

RURAL Sections 4976, 4977, 4978, 4979, 4980, 4981, 4982, 4983, 4984, 4993, 4994, 4998, and 4999 (formerly part Section 3, Block II, Mawheranui Survey District), situated in Block II, Mawheranui Survey District: area, 508 acres 1 rood 10.3 perches, more or less (S.O. Plan 5902), part certificates of title, Volume 2C, folio 329 and Volume 2C, folio 103.

Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal, and all other minerals or metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, or metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.

SECTION 38 (formerly part Section 8), Block III, Cobden Survey District: area, 28 acres 3 roods 2 perches, more or less (S.O. Plan 5894).

Save and excepting for Her Majesty the Queen all seams or beds of coal and all other minerals and metals, and reserving to Her Majesty the Queen and all persons legally entitled to work the said coal, minerals, and metals, a right of ingress, egress, and regress under the said land.
