Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to section 171 of the Coal Mines Act, I, Sir
Edward Denis Blundell, the Governor-General of New Zea-
land, do hereby exempt the land described in the Schedule
hereto from the operation of Part III of the said Act.

RURAL Sections 4976, 4977, 4978, 4979, 4980, 4981, 4982,

Block II, Mawheranui Survey District: area, 508 acres 1 rood
10.3 perches, more or less (S.O. Plan 5902), part certificates

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations,
and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His
Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following
appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations,
and retirements of officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy:
Rear Admiral Lawrence George Carr, C.B., D.S.C., is placed
on the Retired List with effect from 14 September 1972.
The period of re-employment of Lieutenant Commander
Trevor Harry Wickman, M.B.E. (RTD.), on the Active List of
the Royal N.Z. Navy is terminated with effect from 20 Octo-
ber 1972; to remain on Retired List.
The appointment of Lieutenant Commander J. M.
Beauchamp is reduced to 14 January 1974.
The appointment of Instructor Lieutenant Commander P.
Turpie, B.SC.(ENG.), is reduced to 19 January 1973.
The appointment of Lieutenant K. J. Robertson is extended
to 1 December 1976.
The appointment of Surgeon Lieutenant (D) A. L. Greens-
mith is extended to 29 October 1972.
Surgeon Lieutenant (D) A. L. Greensmith is placed on the
RNZN Emergency List with effect from 30 October 1972.
Sub Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) J. Murray to be
Lieutenant with seniority and effect from 30 September 1972.
Sub Lieutenant A. G. Tunnicliffe to be Lieutenant with
seniority and effect from 16 October 1972.
Ensign (Acting Sub Lieutenant) P. Y. Dennerley to be

Lindsay Gerald Moffatt, M.B., CH.B., M.R.C.G.P., is appointed
to the RNZN on a Special Medical Engagement in the rank
of Surgeon Lieutenant Commander with seniority and effect
from 8 September 1972, terminating on 8 March 1976.
Allan Graham Clarke is appointed to a 5-year short-service
commission in the rank of Instructor Lieutenant, with seniority
from 24 October 1966 and effect from 24 October 1972.
Richard Donald McBurney is appointed to the RNZN for
a period terminating on 23 March 1978, in the rank of
Lieutenant, with seniority from 2 October 1967 and effect
from 2 October 1972.
THE ROYAL N.Z. NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
The appointment of Commander R. F. Faber, v.r.d., j.p., is
extended to 1 December 1973.
The appointment of Lieutenant Brian Joseph Victor Dunn,
b.e.(elect.), is terminated with effect from 30 August 1972.
Temp. Lieutenant H. B. Louth, p.s.i., s.i.(h.n.c., u.k), to
be Lieutenant with seniority from 1 May 1965 and effect from
1 December 1971.
EMERGENCY LIST OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL
VOLUNTEER RESERVE
Lieutenant Commander Peter Charles Edward Oldham,
v.r.d., is placed on the RNZNVR Retired List with effect from
10 July 1969.
Lieutenant Commander Max Harland, v.r.d., a.n.z.i.d.(arch.),
a.n.z.i.a., is placed on the RNZNVR Retired List with effect
from 12 October 1971.
The period of service of Lieutenant Commander Antony
John Burleton on the Emergency List of the RNZNVR is ter-
minated with effect from 11 June 1970.
The period of service of Lieutenant Commander Raymond
Napier Crouch, V.R.D., M.P.S.(N.Z.), on the Emergency List
of the RNZNVR is terminated with effect from 22 January
1972.
The period of service of Instructor Lieutenant Devon
