Price Order No. 2202 (Australian Navel Oranges)
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, I, Clifford Ernest Beard, pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary of Industries and Commerce acting under a delegation from the Price Tribunal, hereby make the following price order:

This order may be cited as Price Order No. 2202 and shall come into force on the 29th day of September 1972.

References in this order to metropolitan areas are references to the metropolitan areas described in the Schedule hereto.
APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER
- This order applies with respect to all Australian Navel oranges sold by way of retail in New Zealand.
MAXIMUM RETAIL PRICES
- (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause, the maximum price that may be charged or received by any retailer for any Australian Navel oranges shall be—
(a) When sold by a retailer carrying on business in any of the metropolitan areas of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin, or in any of the cities or boroughs of Whangarei, Takapuna, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Gisborne, New Plymouth, Stratford, Hawera, Wanganui, Palmerston North, Napier, Hastings, Masterton, Blenheim, Nelson, Greymouth, Timaru, Westport, Oamaru, Balclutha, Gore, or Invercargill—
20 cents per pound.
(b) When sold by a retailer carrying on business elsewhere—
1 lb, 21 cents;
2 lb, 41 cents;
3 lb, 62 cents;
4 lb, 82 cents;
5 lb, $1.03;
6 lb, $1.23.
Fractions of a pound shall be calculated at 21 cents per pound. Quantities in excess of 6 lb shall be calculated at the rate of 20½ cents per pound.
(2) If in respect of any lot of oranges sold by a retailer the maximum price calculated in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this clause is not an exact number of cents, the maximum price of the lot may be computed to the nearest whole cent.
SPECIAL PRICES WHERE EXTRAORDINARY CHARGES INCURRED
- Subject to such conditions, if any, as it thinks fit, the Tribunal, on application by any retailer, may authorise special prices in respect of any Australian Navel oranges to which this order applies where special circumstances exist, or for any reason extraordinary charges (freight or otherwise) are incurred by the retailer. Any authority given by the Tribunal under this clause may apply with respect to a specified lot or consignment of oranges or may relate generally to all Australian Navel oranges to which this order applies sold by the retailer while the approval remains in force.
DUTY IMPOSED ON RETAILERS
- Every retailer who offers or exposes any Australian Navel oranges for sale in any shop shall keep in a prominent position in such proximity to the oranges to which it relates as to be obviously descriptive thereof, a ticket, placard, or label on which shall be stated in legible and prominent characters the following particulars:
(a) The retail price per pound of the oranges. Retailers to whom clause 4 (1) (b) of this order applies shall state at least the prices for 1 lb and 2 lb lots.
(b) The words "Australian Navel".

Traffic Regulations—Prison Vans Exempted from Interior Door Handle
PURSUANT to regulation 25A of the Traffic Regulations 1956*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts prison vans operated by the New Zealand Police from the requirements of subclause 2 of regulation 50 of the said regulations, in so far as it relates to the fitting of a door handle for opening the door of the rear compartment from inside, provided that whenever prisoners are being transported they are accompanied by a member of the Police who carries a device capable of opening the door from inside the compartment.

PURSUANT to the Land Act 1948, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto has been acquired for scenic purposes, to form part of the Spooners Range Scenic Reserve.
