Sir Edward Denis Blundell, G.C.M.G., K.B.E.

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was graciously pleased, by a Commission passed under the Royal Sign Manual and Signet, bearing date at Saint James's the 11th day of September 1972, to appoint me, Sir Edward Denis Blundell, to be Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand:
Now, therefore, I, the Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief aforesaid, hereby proclaim and declare that I have this day taken the prescribed oaths before the Right Honourable Sir Herbert Richard Churton Wild, Chief Justice of New Zealand, and that I have assumed the said office of Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand under and by virtue of Her Majesty's said Commission.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir Edward Denis Blundell, Knight Grand Cross of Our Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of Our Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over New Zealand; and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 27th day of September 1972.
