SOUTHLAND CATCHMENT BOARD

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

NOTICE is hereby given that the Southland Catchment Board
proposes, in pursuance of the Public Works Act 1928, to take
the land described in the Schedule hereto for river control
purposes.

Plans of the land proposed to be taken are deposited in
the office of the Southland Catchment Board, Spey Street,
Invercargill, and at the office of the Mataura Borough Council,
Mataura, and are open for public inspection without fee
during ordinary office hours.

All persons having any objection to the proposed taking of
land must state their objection in writing and send the same
to the Southland Catchment Board, P.O. Box 408, Invercargill,
within 40 days of the 29th day of June 1972, being the date
of the first publication of this notice.

If any such objection shall be made a public hearing will
be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each
objector will be advised of the time and place of the hearing.

of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the
Borough of Whakatane be and the same is hereby made an
annual-recurring rate for the purpose of paying the annual
charges payable in respect of the loans secured by those special
rates, and may be levied in whole or in part, year by year,
without further proceedings by the Council, and shall be
payable in one sum on the 1st day of July in each year or by
instalments commencing on the 1st day of April in each year."

GISBORNE CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Pensioners' Flats Loan 1972--$18,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Gisborne City Council hereby resolves as follows:

"That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a
loan of $18,000, authorised to be raised by the Gisborne City
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
purchasing land and erecting accommodation for old people,
the said Gisborne City Council hereby makes a rate of 0.005c
in the dollar upon the rateable value of all rateable property
of the whole of the City of Gisborne; and that special rate
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and
every year during the currency of the loan for a period of 40
years or until the loan is fully paid off."

The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the
Gisborne City Council held on 20 June 1972.

SPECIAL ORDER—CONSOLIDATED SPECIAL RATES

The following resolution was passed by the Whakatane
Borough Council on 15 May 1972 and confirmed on 19 June
1972:

"That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section
108A of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, as enacted by
section 10 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act
1959, the Whakatane Borough Council hereby resolves, by
way of special order, that instead of levying the special rates
specified in the Schedule hereto, a uniform consolidated special
