Tariff and Development Board Notice No. 271—Inquiry Concerning Protection for Various Machine-tools of Tariff Heading 84.47

The Minister of Customs has referred to the Tariff and Development Board for inquiry and report the question of the nature and extent of the protection, if any, which it considers appropriate for New Zealand industry in respect of the importation of machine-tools for working wood, etc., of Tariff heading 84.47, as set out in the Schedule to this notice. This reference arises from the publication, in a Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette dated 7 October 1971, of a Notice of Proposed Exemptions from Import Licensing and from representations received in response to that Notice.

The Board will, in accordance with its normal procedures, conduct a public hearing in the Hearing Room, Eighth Floor, Cumberland House, Upper Willis Street, Wellington, on Monday, 14 August 1972, commencing at 10.30 a.m.

Any person who intends to tender evidence should lodge, in typewritten form, 14 copies of public evidence and 12 copies of confidential evidence, no later than Thursday, 20 July 1972. In preparing this evidence the “Notes for Information and Guidance of Interested Parties” prepared by the Board may be of assistance. Copies of these notes may be obtained from the Board’s office.

Licences Issued Under the Animal Remedies Act (Notice No. 264 Ag. 2862)
PURSUANT to section 21 (6) of the Animal Remedies Act 1967, the Registrar hereby gives notice that licences have been issued as set out in the Schedules hereto:
Those in Schedule I are subject to no conditions.
Those in Schedule II are subject to the conditions:

That it is not sold to any person other than a veterinary surgeon, or a dealer, or otherwise than pursuant to the prescription of a veterinary surgeon.

That it is not used otherwise than by or under the supervision of a veterinary surgeon.
The products in Schedule III relate to a change of name of licensed remedies.
