Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical Services for the Residents of Tokanui and Surrounding Districts

PURSUANT to section 117 of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Health has made special arrangements whereby all persons for the time being resident in the district described in the Schedule hereto who are entitled to claim benefits under Part II of that Act shall be entitled to receive free of charge, at the hands of any registered medical practitioner who is employed or engaged by the Southland Hospital Board or who is providing relief for such persons pursuant to a contract made with the said Board under section 78 of the Hospitals Act 1957, general medical services as defined in section 88 (1) of the Social Security Act 1964.

These special arrangements are in addition to the benefits provided by Part II of the Social Security Act 1964.

Provided that no person may receive from the Department of Health, under that Act, any payment in respect of any service or requirement given or supplied pursuant to the arrangements.


SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Southland and Otago Land Districts, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the sea-coast due south of Trig. Station L in Block XIV, Oteramika Hundred; thence due north to the said Trig. Station L; thence north-westerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 7, Block IX, Oteramika Hundred; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said section 7 and its production across the railway line to the southern side of the roadway forming the northern boundaries of Sections
