Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 10) 1972
Pursuant to regulation 16 of the Import Control Regulations 1964*, the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:
-
(a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 10) 1972.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette. -
Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

The exemptions from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations in respect of goods of the classes set forth in the Second Schedule hereto, included in the exempting notice shown in the Second Schedule are hereby withdrawn.

Natural sands of all kinds, whether or not coloured, other than metal-bearing sands falling within heading No. 26.01.
Natural magnesium carbonate (magnesite), whether or not calcined, other than magnesium oxide.
radio-active elements and of isotopes, of Tariff chapters 28 and 29, EXCLUDING the following: Chlorine; sulphur, colloidal; hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid and oleum, of other than C.P., B.P., and laboratory grades; ammonia in aqueous solution; sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) in packages not exceeding 7 lb net weight; zinc oxide; calcium hydroxide and copper oxide; copper sulphate and iron sulphate, other than ferrous sulphate on declaration for use as or with fertilisers; silver nitrate; 2:4:5 trichlorophenolate, trichlorophenols, sodium 2:4:6 trichlorophenate; formaldehyde and paraformaldehyde; oleic acid; 2:4 dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2-4D) and 2:4:5 trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2:4:5-T), and salts and esters thereof; 4 chloro-2 methylphenoxyacetic acid (MCPA) and esters thereof; rennet; sugars, chemically pure; non metals doped for use in electronics; intermixtures or interalloys of rare earth metals, yttrium and scandium; nitric acid; sulphonitric acids; anhydrous ammonia; sodium hypochlorite; sodium bisulphate and aluminium sulphate; refined naphthalene; sodium silicate in liquid form.

Plain unornamental stoppers for trade containers of hardened rubber (ebonite and vulcanite).
Wood in the rough, whether or not stripped of its bark or merely roughed down, viz: pulpwood, sawlogs and veneer logs of non-coniferous species (excluding balsawood); pitprops; other (excluding balsawood).
Wood paving blocks.
Riven staves of wood, not further prepared than sawn on one principal surface; sawn staves of wood, of which at least one principal surface has been cylindrically sawn, not further prepared than sawn.
