Boundaries of European Electoral Districts Defined

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the Representation Commission appointed under the Electoral Act 1956 has reported to me the names and boundaries of the European electoral districts of New Zealand fixed by the Commission in accordance with the said Act:
Now, therefore, pursuant to the Electoral Act 1956, I, Sir Arthur Espie Porritt, Baronet, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare the names and boundaries of the electoral districts as aforesaid, so fixed by the said Commission, to be those set out in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE D

DESCRIPTIONS OF THE BOUNDARIES OF THE ELECTORAL DISTRICTS

HOBSON

All that piece bounded by a line commencing at North Head in the Kaipara Harbour and proceeding northerly and easterly along the mean high-water mark of the sea and the right bank of the Wairoa River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Whakahara Parish; thence generally north-easterly to and along that boundary and the south-eastern boundary of Okahu Parish, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of the Manganui River; thence generally north-westerly along the middle of the said river, to and along the middle of the Tauraroa River to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 44, D.P. 8548, being part Walton’s 2A Grant; thence along a right line to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 44, aforesaid, crossing the Tauraroa W. River Road and along the north-western boundary of Lot 43, D.P. 8548, to the eastern boundary of Block VII, Tangihua Survey District; thence generally north-westerly along the said eastern boundary and the eastern boundary of Block I, Tangihua Survey District, to and along the south-western boundary of Section E. 9, Block III, Tangihua Survey District, the south-western boundary of Section S.W. 9, Block III, aforesaid, the south-western and western boundaries of Section 14, Block III, aforesaid, and the western boundaries of Sections 15 and 16, Block III, aforesaid, to and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 7, E. 8, W. 8, S.E. 9, N.W. 9, 10, 11, part 12, 13, and 14, all of Block I, Tangihua Survey District, to and along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Section 15, Block I, aforesaid, to the southernmost point of Lot 2, D.P. 13137; thence generally north-westerly along the generally south-western boundary of Lot 2, aforesaid, to and along a right line, being the northern part of the last-mentioned boundary produced, across a public road to its northern side; thence generally westerly along the northern side of that road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 6, Block IV, Maungaru Survey District, and north-easterly along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Waiotama River; thence generally north-westerly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 4, Block IV, aforesaid; thence generally north-westerly to and along the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 4, aforesaid, the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 1, Block IV, aforesaid, crossing the northern end of a public road, and along a right line, being the last-mentioned boundary produced to the middle of the Wairua River; thence generally north-easterly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 20, Block II, Purua Survey District; thence northerly along a right line to the south-western corner of Section 20, aforesaid; thence north-westerly along a right line running in the direction of the south-eastern corner of Section 40, Block IV, Mangakahia Survey District, to its intersection with the south-eastern boundary of a former portion of State forest, described in New Zealand Gazette, No. 6, of the 20th day of January 1921, page 125; thence westerly along another right line to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block VII, Mangakahia Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundary of the said Section 2, and its production to the right bank of the Hikurangi River; thence southerly along the right bank of the said river, to and westerly along the northern boundaries of Pipiwai 2H8, 2H6, 2H5B, 2H3, 2H2, and 2H1 Blocks to the eastern boundary of Section 5, Block VI, Mangakahia Survey District; thence generally north-westerly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 5, to and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 1, Block VI, aforesaid, along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of Kaikou 4 Block, to and along the generally eastern boundary of Nukutawhiti Block to the middle of the Kaikou River; thence north-easterly along the middle of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of Kaikou D3 Block; thence southerly and easterly along a right line, crossing a public road, to and along the said western boundary, the western and south-western boundaries of the Kaikou A3E Block, and
