Validating Proceedings in Connection With the Bay of Islands
County Council's Loan of $20,000

Whereas the Bay of Islands County Council has commenced
proceedings for raising a loan of $20,000 to be known as the
"Paihia Fire Brigade Loan 1971":
And whereas the said Council has prepared a special roll
in respect of the part of its district which is to receive the
benefit of the said loan:
And whereas the said proceedings are irregular or defective
in that, contrary to regulation 7 of the Local Authorities Loans
Regulations 1957, the said Council made application to the
Local Authorities Loans Board for sanction to the said loan
before the said special roll had been authenticated:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been
misled by such irregularity or defect and it is expedient to
validate the same:
Now, therefore, pursuant to section 130 of the Local
Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as amended by section 15 of the
Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1971), the Minister
of Finance hereby declares that the proceedings in connection
with the raising of the said loan shall be valid to all intents
and purposes as though the said application had not been
made until the said special roll had been authenticated.
Dated at Wellington this 4th day of February 1972.
R. D. MULDOON, Minister of Finance.
