I hereby give public notice of the result of the annual election
held on Monday, 4 December 1972, to fill two vacancies on
the Council of Lincoln College.

One member to be elected by such of the members of the
House of Representatives as for the time being represent
electoral districts within the South Island:

I hereby declare Sir Basil Arthur to be duly elected to hold
office for a period of 3 years commencing on the 1st day of
January 1973.

One member, not being in the employment of the Lincoln
College Council or in the Government Service, to be elected
by the graduates of the University of New Zealand and of the
University of Canterbury whose names are on the books of
the College, the holders of diplomas granted by the College,
and such other persons and classes of persons who have com-
pleted courses extending over not less than one academic year:

MANUKAU CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

IN the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and its
amendments, and of the Public Works Act 1928 and its
amendments:

Notice is hereby given that the Manukau City Council pro-
poses, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to
execute a certain public work, namely, the widening of street
at the corner of Ranfurly and Alfriston Roads and for that
public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is
required to be taken.

Every person affected by the execution of the said public
work or the taking of the said land is called upon to set forth
in writing any objections he may wish to make to the execution
of the said work or to the taking of the said land, not being
an objection as to the amount or payment of compensation, and
to send such written objection within 40 days of the first
publication of this notice to the Manukau City Council,
Private Bag, Manurewa.

If any such objection is made a public hearing of the
objector will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires,
and each objector will be advised of the time and place of the
hearing. At the hearing of any objection the objector shall
be advised of the reasons for the proposed taking.

SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL that parcel of land containing 18 perches, more or less,
situated in the City of Manukau, being part Allotment 15,
Parish of Manurewa, and being the whole of the land con-
tained in certificate, Volume 504, folio 29, North Auckland
Land Registry.

WAIVI BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Community Housing Loan 1972—$48,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Waihi Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That for the purpose of providing the annual charges on
a loan of $48,000 authorised to be raised by the Waihi
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the pur-
pose of providing housing in the Borough, the said Waihi
Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal two
six (0.26c) in the dollar upon the rateable unimproved value
of all rateable property in the Borough of Waihi; and that
the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of the loan and be payable on the 1st day of August
in each and every year during the currency of the loan being
a period of 30 years or until the loan is fully repaid.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of the resolution passed by the Waihi Borough Council on
the 12th day of December 1972.
