Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the North
Island and South Island of New Zealand
THE Representation Commission appointed in pursuance of
section 15 of the Electoral Act 1956 hereby publishes, in
accordance with the provisions of section 18 of the said
Act, the proposed boundaries of the Electoral Districts in
the North and South Islands of New Zealand; and, further,
gives notice that written objections to the same will be
received by the undersigned, the Chairman of the Commission,
at the office of the Surveyor-General, Government Buildings,
Wellington, not later than noon on Friday, the 14th day of
January 1972, for consideration by the aforesaid Commission.
Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the office
of any city or borough council, county council, or town
board; or the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland,
Hamilton, New Plymouth, Gisborne, Napier, Wellington,
Blenheim, Nelson, Hokitika, Christchurch, Dunedin, and
Invercargill, or the office of the Chief Electoral Officer at
Wellington; and all Registrars of Electors.
Counties, ridings, cities, boroughs, and town districts where
mentioned in this notice shall, unless otherwise stated, be
as existing on 23 March 1971.

HOBSON
ALL that piece comprising the Counties of Mangonui,
Whangaroa, Hokianga, Bay of Islands, and Hobson; the
Boroughs of Kaitaia, Kaikohe, and Dargaville; the Town
District of Kawakawa; and the Otonga and Mangakahia
Ridings of the County of Whangarei; and including Motuo-
pao, Murimotu, Moturoa, and Stephenson Islands, the Cavalli
Islands, the Poor Knights Islands, the Three Kings Islands
and other adjacent islands.
WHANGAREI
ALL that piece comprising the City of Whangarei the Town
District of Hikurangi, and the Kiripaki, Hikurangi, Wairua,
and Manaia Ridings of the County of Whangarei; and
including the Hen and Chicken Islands, the Mokohinau
Islands, Fanal Island, Pataua Island, and other adjacent
islands.
RODNEY
ALL that piece comprising the Maunu, Maungakaramea,
Mangapai, Ruakaka, and Waipu Ridings of the County of
Whangarei; the Counties of Otamatea and Rodney; the

Borough of Helensville; the Town District of Warkworth
that portion of the County of Waitemata being the Riding
Whangaparaoa and that portion of the Riding of Kaukap-
kapa to the north of a line commencing at a point on the
mean high-water mark of the sea on the northern boundary
of the Borough of East Coast Bays and proceeding generally
south-westerly along that boundary to the middle of Albany
Browns Bay Road; thence south-westerly along the middle
of that road, No. 1 and No. 18 State Highways, and M
Flat Road to the middle of the Rangitopuni Stream; then
generally south-westerly along the middle of that stream
the middle of No. 18 State Highway; thence generally
southerly along the middle of that highway to the boundary
of the Riding of Kaukapakapa aforesaid; thence generally
south-westerly along that boundary to the mean high-water
mark of the sea; and including the Tiritiri Matangi, Kawa
Motuora, and other adjacent islands.
WAITEMATA
ALL that piece comprising portions of the Kaukapakapa
Glenfield, Waitakere, and Te Atatu Ridings of the County
of Waitemata bounded by a line commencing at Te Waharoa
Bay where the southern boundary of the Electoral District
of Rodney meets the mean high-water mark of the sea and
proceeding generally north-easterly along that southerly
boundary to the boundary of the Borough of East Coast
Bays; thence generally southerly along that boundary and
the boundary of Glenfield Riding to the middle of Glenfield
Road; thence southerly along the middle of that road to the
middle of Roberts Road East; thence generally north westerly
along the middle of that road, Stanley and Seaview Road
and its extension to Kaipatiki Creek; thence generally westerly
along the shore of that creek and the generally northerly
shore of Waitemata Harbour to Brigahams Creek; then
generally southerly along the shore of Waitemata Harbour
and Huruhuru Creek to a point in line with Rathgar Road
thence easterly to and along the middle of that road and
along the western boundaries of the Borough of Henderson
Road to the southern boundary of Waitakere Riding; then
generally westerly along that boundary and northerly along
the mean high-water mark of the sea to the point of
commencement, including that portion of Te Atatu Riding
north of No. 18 State Highway and that portion of Waitakere
Riding north of No. 18 State Highway near the Lincoln
Road interchange.
EAST COAST BAYS
ALL that piece comprising the Borough of East Coast Bays;
part of the City of Takapuna and part of the Glenfield
Riding of the County of Waitemata bounded by a line
commencing at the intersection of the mean high-water mark
