  1. Goods classified Class P not complying with the minimum loads specified in paragraph 1 hereof but complying with the following minimum loads will be charged Class P plus 25 percent:

*L wagons available in South Island only. Such wagons are unsuitable for bulk grain traffic.

Any less quantity will be charged at such minimum or on actual weight at Class P plus 50 percent, whichever is cheaper.
Small lots will be charged at class E plus 50 percent rates as set out in section 71 Small Lots Scale.

  1. The charge at Class P single rate with loading and/or unloading charges added shall not be greater than when computed at Class D rate.

  2. Handling and tallying -- The department may require all loading, unloading, or tallying to be performed by the owners. Where loading, unloading, or tallying is performed by the department, the following charges will be made:

Loading or unloading and including tallying where performed Charge Per Ton c Minimum Charge 90
Tallying without handling Charge Per Ton c Minimum Charge 36

Exception -- No charge will be made for loading, unloading, or tallying when goods are charged at Class P plus 25 or 50 percent.

  1. Tarpaulins

Paragraph 1, Subparagraph (a): Omit the final sentence of this subparagraph and substitute :
When such goods are loaded in the same wagon with goods of classes C, D, E, G, H, or P, all tarpaulins in excess of one per wagon will be charged for.

  1. Weighing

Paragraph 1: Omit the third sentence of this paragraph and substitute: No charge, however, will be made for weighing wagons of goods of Classes E, F, N, P, or Q, for the purpose of computing railage charges unless the consignor or consignee requests a weight certificate.

  1. Demurrage

Paragraph 2, Subparagraph (c): Insert the following new clause:
(vi) The classified P rate plus 25 percent or 50 percent.
