  1. This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power
    Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1967, the
    Electrical Wiring Regulations 1961, the Radio Interference
    Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment
    of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in
    the case of the Water Power Regulations it were a licence under
    the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of
    generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity
    Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

  2. The generation of electricity by the use of water, pursuant
    to this licence, shall be carried out by means of the works
    described in the Schedule hereto.

  3. This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined,
    continue in force for a period of 3 years from the 6th day of
    September 1971.

  4. This consent confers no rights to water under the Water
    and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

  5. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable
    in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of
    the plant shall be assessed at 250 kW.

  6. Fox Glacier Hydro-Electric Ltd. (hereinafter referred to
    as “the company”) shall take all reasonable precautions to
    prevent damage by fire or otherwise to the scenic reserve of
    6,200 acres in Block XVI, Gillespies S.D., and Blocks IX and
    XIII, Waiho S.D., set apart by section 26 of the Reserves and
    Other Lands Disposal Act 1936.

  7. The company will be held responsible for any damage to
    the said scenic reserve from fire or otherwise caused by its
    contractors, agents, officers, or its or their employees.

  8. The company or its employees shall not cut any timber
    on the said scenic reserve without the written permission of the
    Commissioner of Crown Lands, Hokitika, who may in any such case
    require such payment for any timber cut as he deems fair and
    reasonable, and may further require compliance with such conditions
    designed to protect the scenic beauty of the reserve as he deems fit.

  9. The company and its employees shall take all reasonable
    precautions to prevent any interference with bird life on the
    said scenic reserve, and shall strictly observe the conditions
    for the protection of game sanctuaries generally.

  10. Full rights of ingress, egress, and regress regarding the
    said scenic reserve shall be reserved to Her Majesty, and her
    servants, agents, and workmen.

SCHEDULE

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

WATER shall be taken from Lake Gault in Block XVI,
Gillespies S.D. in the Westland Land District, and shall be
used for the generation of electricity by means of the following works:

(a) Head works consisting of a dam and intake giving a static head
of approximately 680 ft.

(b) Water race tunnel and pipeline leading from the said lake to
the powerhouse hereinafter described.

(c) Pelton-wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for
generating electricity.

(d) Pipeline from the said powerhouse to the Clearwater River.

All as shown on the plan marked NZED 839 deposited in the office
of the New Zealand Electricity Department at Wellington.

The Fox Glacier Hydro-Electric Ltd. Electricity Supply Licence
1971

PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity
hereby licenses Fox Glacier Hydro-Electric Ltd., subject to the
following conditions, to supply electricity to the public within
the area described in the Schedule hereto.

CONDITIONS

  1. The conditions directed by the Electrical Supply Regulations
    1967 to be implied in every licence to erect electric lines shall
    be deemed to be incorporated in and to form part of this licence,
    as if it were a licence to erect electric lines.

  2. This licence is subject to compliance with the Electrical
    Supply Regulations 1967, the Electrical Wiring Regulations

1927

1961, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations
made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those
regulations as if it were a licence under the Public Works Act
1928 to erect electric lines as well as a licence under the Electricity
Act 1968 to supply electricity to the public.

  1. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs
    (a), (b), (d), and (f) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply
    Regulations 1967. The generating voltage shall be 400 volts between
    phases, and the transmission voltage shall be approximately 11,000
    volts between phases.

  2. This licence shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined,
    continue in force for a period of 3 years from the 6th day of
    September 1971.

  3. This licence shall come into force on the 6th day of
    September 1971.

SCHEDULE

AREA OF SUPPLY

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, County of Westland,
falling within a radius of 2½ miles of the Fox Glacier Hotel as
shown on plan NZED 839 deposited in the Office of the New Zealand
Electricity Department at Wellington.

Notice Declaring a Restricted Area for the Production of Honey,
Amendment No. 1 (Notice No. 105 Ag. 60025)

PURSUANT to section 30 of the Apiaries Act 1969, the Schedule to
the notice declaring a restricted area for the production of honey
(No. 30 Ag. 60025)* is hereby amended:

(a) By omitting from line 7 of the second paragraph the Block
reference "XI";

(b) By deleting from line 14 of the third paragraph the word
"eastern", and substituting the word "western"; and

(c) By deleting from line 15 of the third paragraph the Block
reference "XI", and substituting "IX".

Agricultural Chemical Notice Restricting Use of 2, 4-D Dust in North
Island (No. 108 Ag. 3339)

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Agricultural Chemicals Act 1959 (as
amended by the Agricultural Chemicals Act 1970), the Minister of
Agriculture, on the recommendation of the Agricultural Chemicals
Board, hereby gives notice that all use and application of hormone-based
weedkiller dusts, whether used alone or mixed with any other material
(e.g., fertiliser), is prohibited in the North Island as from 16
September for 6 months.

The Traffic (Coromandel County) Notice No. 1, 1971

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport
hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Coromandel County) Notice
    No. 1, 1971.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to
    be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the
    Transport Act 1962, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle
    thereon at any time during the period commencing with the 1st day of
    December in each year and ending with the Wednesday following Easter
    each year shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 30 miles an
    hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Coromandel County at Cooks Bay:

All that area bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Cook Stream;
thence southerly and south-easterly generally along the eastern bank of
