  1. Handling—The department may require all loading, unloading, or tallying, to be performed by the owners. Where any such service is performed by the department charges as provided in section 122 will be made.

  2. Class P

  3. Minimum Loads of goods chargeable at Class P will be as follows:

— Each Four-wheeled Wagon n.o.s.* Each LA, Kp, Ks, or Xp Wagon Each Lc, Nc, or Nf Wagon Each Rb Wagon Each Bogie Wagon n.o.s.
Wheat, oats, barley .. Tons 6 Tons 8 Tons 10 Tons 16 Tons 12
Goods in Class P n.o.s. .. 5 6 7½ 12 10

*L wagons available in South Island only. Such wagons are unsuitable for bulk grain traffic.

Any less quantity will be charged at such minimum or in accordance with paragraph 2 hereof.

  1. Goods classified Class P not complying with the minimum loads specified in paragraph 1 hereof but complying with the following minimum loads will be charged Class P plus 25 percent:
— Each Four-wheeled Wagon n.o.s.* Each LA, Kp, Ks, or Xp Wagon Each Lc, Nc, or Nf Wagon Each Rb Wagon Each Bogie Wagon n.o.s.
Wheat, oats, barley .. Tons 4 Tons 6 Tons 7 Tons 12 Tons 8
Goods in Class P n.o.s. .. 3½ 4½ 5½ 9 7

*L wagons available in South Island only. Such wagons are unsuitable for bulk grain traffic.

Any less quantity will be charged at such minimum or on actual weight at Class P plus 50 percent, whichever is cheaper.

Small lots will be charged at Class E plus 50 percent rates as set out in section 71 Small Lots Scale.

  1. The charge at Class P single rate with loading and/or unloading charges added shall not be greater than when computed at Class D rate.

  2. Handling and tallying—The department may require all loading, unloading, or tallying to be performed by the owners. Where loading, unloading or tallying is performed by the department, the following charges will be made:

EXCEPTION—No charge will be made for loading, unloading, or tallying when goods are charged at Class P plus 25 or 50 percent.

  1. Class Q

  2. Minimum Loads of goods chargeable at Class Q rate will be as follows:

— Each Four-wheeled Wagon, n.o.s. Each 10-ton L Wagon Each MA, MC, NC, or Nf Wagon Each KC, Kp, Ks, LA, Xc, or Xp Wagon Each Lc Wagon Each R or U Wagon Each Rb, Ub, Ur, Us, or Zp Wagon
Concrete products as under—

Airbricks, bricks, building blocks, cell blocks, crib blocks, paving slabs or tiles, or ventilators
Earthenware products as under—
Building blocks, bricks, flooring filler blocks, flooring planks, flooring tiles, or quarries (unglazed)
Sand, shingle, stone (rough) or chalk
Clay, lime, or limestone
Goods in class Q, not otherwise specified | Tons 6 | Tons 8 | Tons 10 | Tons 11 | Tons 14 | Tons 15 | Tons 20 |

  1. Minimum Charges—Except where otherwise specified, any less quantity than the minimum prescribed will be charged at such minimum or on actual weight at Class E plus 50% whichever is cheaper.
