The Life Insurance Act 1908—Proposed Release of Deposit

THE Southern Cross Assurance Co. Ltd. has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has not carried on the business of life insurance in New Zealand and does not intend to do so in the future and that it proposes to withdraw the deposit made by it with the Public Trustee pursuant to section 3 of the abovementioned Act.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 12 (2) of the above-mentioned Act, that he proposes to release to the company on or after the 30th day of September 1971 the securities deposited with him by the company.

Any objection to the release of the securities deposited with the Public Trustee should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 30th day of September 1971.

Licensing Control Commission of New Zealand
(Sale of Liquor Act 1962)

IN the matter of a poll to be held in the former Auckland suburbs no-licence district in accordance with section 9B of the Licensing Amendment Act 1910.

IN accordance with section 9B of the Licensing Amendment Act 1910, a poll of the electors residing in the former Auckland suburbs no-licence district must be held on the question whether all licences to be authorised in such district by the Commission should be offered to suburban trusts.

The Commission now directs that:

1. The Returning Officer for the taking of the poll shall be Joseph Oswald Cooke, of Auckland, Public Servant.

2. The poll shall be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, 30 October 1971, at the polling place or places appointed and advertised by the Returning Officer.

3. The Parliamentary Electoral Rolls for the Electoral Districts of New Lynn, Henderson, Waitemata, Mount Albert, Roskill, Grey Lynn, and Northern Maori, suitably marked to indicate the persons entitled to vote, shall be the rolls to be used for the purposes of this poll.

4. A supplementary roll of persons who have qualified since the last supplementary roll closed shall close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, 30 September 1971.

5. The voting paper shall be in the form in the Schedule to this notice.
