former no-licence district must be held on the question whether
all licences to be authorised in such district by the Commission should be offered to suburban trusts.
The Commission now directs that:
- The Returning Officer for the taking of the poll shall be Garth Fletcher Soper, of Wellington, Public Servant.
- The poll shall be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., on Saturday, 9 October 1971, at the polling place or places appointed and advertised by the Returning Officer.
- The Parliamentary Electoral Rolls for the Electoral Districts of Island Bay, Miramar, and Southern Maori, suitably marked to indicate the persons entitled to vote, shall be the rolls to be used for the purposes of this poll.
- A supplementary roll of persons who have qualified since the last supplementary roll closed shall close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, 9 September 1971.
- The voting paper shall be in the form in the Schedule to this notice.

DIRECTIONS
THE voter must strike out one line, leaving untouched the line which shows the way he wishes to vote.
If the voter strikes out both lines or fails to strike out one of the lines, the voting paper will be void and his vote will not be recorded.
The voting paper so marked is to be folded up so that the contents cannot be seen, and placed by the voter in the ballot box.
The voter is not allowed to take this voting paper out of the polling booth.
Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities
Pursuant to section 3 of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 (as amended by section 3 (1) of the Local Authorities Loans Amendment Act 1967), the undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the Minister of Finance, hereby consents to the borrowing by the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto of the whole or any part of the respective amounts specified in that Schedule.

Revoking a Declaration of State Highway and Declaring Public Highway to be State Highway
Pursuant to the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works, gives notice that the notice dated 9 March 1960, published in the Gazette, 24 March 1960, Vol. I, p. 384, as amended by a varying notice, published in the Gazette, 14 July 1966, Vol. II, p. 1106, is hereby revoked in so far as it affects the State highway described in the First Schedule hereto; and also gives notice that the public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a State highway from and after the date of this notice.
FIRST SCHEDULE
STATE HIGHWAY REVOKED
No. 1 State highway (Awanui-Bluff):
All that line of State highway in the Whangarei County, commencing at the north-eastern corner of part Te Totara Block, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly, north-easterly, southerly, and easterly direction generally for a distance of approximately 1 mile 65 chains, crossing north-eastern corner of Lot 1, D.P. 39052 and terminating at a point approximately 14 chains north of Hewletts Road; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 17204 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue and green.
SECOND SCHEDULE
DESCRIPTION OF STATE HIGHWAY
No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff):
All that line of public highway in the Whangarei County, commencing at a point 946 links north-west of Mihimi Creek, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally for a distance of approximately 1 mile 18 chains, crossing north corner of part 4A 4 West A Kopuawaiwaha Block and terminating at State Highway No. 1, approximately 14 chains northwards from Hewletts Road; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.O.W. 17204 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
