AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
AVONDALE LIBRARY LOAN 1969, $130,000—SPECIAL RATE
THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and amendments, the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and amendment, and regulations thereunder, and of all other powers thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and thirty thousand dollars ($130,000) to be known as the Avondale Library Loan 1969, $130,000, which amount is proposed to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of erecting a new branch library at Avondale and provision of permanent fittings, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of point nought three one three (.0313) of 1c in the dollar ($) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property (of Auckland City) comprising the whole of the City of Auckland, and that the said special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL
TAKING LAND FOR ROAD—UPPER MANGOREI ROAD
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Taranaki County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take for road the portions of land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being situate in Upper Mangorei Road, approximately 68 chains south of Morgans Road. A plan showing the land proposed to be taken for road is available for public inspection at the office of the Taranaki County Council, Robe Street, New Plymouth and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the taking of such land should, if they have any objection to the taking of the said land, not being objections to the amount or payment of compensation, set forth the same in writing and send the written objection within 40 days of the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at his office, aforesaid. If any objection is made in accordance with this notice a public hearing of the objection will be held, unless the objector otherwise requires, and each objector will be advised of the time and place of hearing.

NOTICE OF PRIVATE BILL
In the matter of a Private Bill intituled "An Act to Consolidate and Amend the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association Act 1900 and its Amendment" notice is hereby given that the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association, a body corporate constituted by the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Guarantee and Provident Association (hereinafter referred to as "the said Association"), intends to apply to the House of Representatives in Parliament assembled for leave to bring in the above-mentioned Bill of short title of which is the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association Act 1971.

The objects of the Bill are to consolidate and amend the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association Act 1900 and its amendments, and in connection therewith and incidental thereto, to extend the powers of the association in relation to the borrowing and investment of moneys, and the undertaking of, or participation in, joint ventures and other appropriate financial and fiduciary activities or arrangements and any securities connected therewith, for the purpose of enabling the association to utilise its funds to better advantage, having regard to modern commercial conditions, for the benefit of its members and their dependants.

The promoter of the Bill is the said the Bank of New Zealand Officers' Provident Association whose address for service of notices and communications is at the offices of its duly appointed solicitors Messrs Findlay, Hoggard, Richmond, and Co., Macarthy Trust Building, Lambton Quay, Wellington, where a copy of this Bill may be inspected.

Printed copies of the Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, on or before the 1st day of July 1971.

Notice of Making of Order Approving Scheme
NOTICE is hereby given that the scheme under Part III of the above-mentioned Act, prepared by the Public Trustee, dated the 29th day of March 1971, in connection with certain charitable trusts declared by the will of James Cumming, deceased, was considered by the Honourable Mr Justice Quilliam at Invercargill, on the 3rd day of May 1971, and an order was then made duly approving the said scheme, which said scheme is filed in the Supreme Court at Invercargill.
