Tariff Notice No. 1971/70—Applications for Continuation of Approval

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for continuation of the following approvals of the Minister of Customs:

Any person wishing to lodge an objection to the granting of these applications should do so in writing on or before 29 July 1971. Submissions should include a reference to the application number, Tariff item, and description of goods concerned, be addressed to the Comptroller of Customs, Private Bag, Wellington, and supported by information as to:

(a) The range of equivalent goods manufactured locally;

(b) The proportion of New Zealand and imported materials used in manufacture;

(c) Present and potential output; and

(d) Details of factory cost in terms of materials, labour, overhead, etc.

Tariff Notice No. 1971/71—Applications for Determinations

NOTICE is hereby given that applications have been made for determination of rates of duty by the Minister of Customs as follows:

13793 40.10.01 Transmission, conveyor or elevator belts or belting, of vulcanised rubber, viz: (1) Conveyor belting in widths from 12 in. to 48 in., and in thicknesses up to ¾ in. maximum inclusive of covers, having all cotton or cotton-nylon fabric carcasses, coverless, or having natural rubber or natural and S.B.R. blended covers on one or both sides (2) Transmission belting in widths from 1 in. to 48 in. and in thicknesses up to 8 plies maximum, and of flat cut edge construction in all cotton fabric carcass plied with natural rubber or Balata 25%* 45%* 55%* ..

*or such lower rate of duty as the Minister may in any case direct

(b) The landed cost and selling price, including c.d.v. and cost into store in terms of f.o.b., insurance, freight, exchange, other landing charges, duty etc., of equivalent goods of overseas origin.
